Brother has a 03 700 pro x 2. Took motor out to replace motor mounts. While motor was out i cleaned carbs, exhaust valves, inspected reeds. Everything is good to go. Put motor back in, starts 2 pulls idles just fine. Once you lay into it it sputters and flutters. So i pulled carbs again inspected them everything is fine. Pulled exhaust valves again they seem fine.. Wtf is going on?!

Thats a tough one, lots of things could have happened during your work. I would say its the carbs. Check all the jets main and primary for blockage. Because it idles i would say the primary is fine.

Did you pull the mains out when you cleaned the carbs?

Make sure your needles are not bent and are working properly in the correct set up.

Air/fuel set screws should be set about 1.5-2 turns from dead bottom.

I would pull the carbs off again and go through them closely, pulling the air screws and main jets and blowing through everything with air to make sure its free of contaminates.
