1995 Polaris 300 4x4 awd problems

took the carb apart and cleaned it got it running great, tightened the nuts on the linkages and got it to shift really well. now it says its in neutral all the time and it burys itself in the snow because the awd wont activate. if i push on the shifter it will activate it. im thinking maybe its the pivot cup inside the shifter?

if it has the digital display than thats the problem, power up the brown wire with white stripe coming from the switch, that will tell you right there.
