I have a 2002 RMK 800 with a 156 track on it currently. I would like to go to a 159. I currently have about an 1 1/2 inches of room to still extend my track tensioners which would be the 3 inches neccessary for the track difference however I am unsure if new tracks stretch alot because at this point I would have no more adjustment. I was thinking of running extrovert and intravert drivers so I could run the track looser if neccessary. That being said how hard is to to add on the extra drivers to the stock shaft. Royal distributing sells the drivers for I believe 50 bucks a pair. Would this set up work. Do I need the extra drivers or should I just spend the extra 128 bucks and get the 1.5 inch rail extensions necessary. Anyone with info on this would be great.
Thank you

Why not go to a big wheel kit? If it was something you might want in the future, now is a good time.

None. Maybe the 159 was a take-off and affordable.

or maybe it is taller, in better shape, has a better paddle design, etc, etc. Bigger wheels also lower rolling resistance, so you will gain less resistance if nothing else.

Here is my 2001. It started with 151 rails, I moved it up to 156" rails with a big wheel kit. It works excelent.

Thanks for all the info. I was going to the 159 because I have a chance to buy one at a good price and according to most dealers the 156 is no longer being made and alot higher in cost. My biggest issue with the big wheel kit is cost. But I think thats the way I am going to go. Thankyou all again.

On my 02 800 Ski Doo in the middle of changing from a 156 to 159 and I'm going to have to buy longer rails .Have 144 rails with rail ext. to 156 with big wheel kit , running big wheels (8") and anti-ratchet drivers and can't move the rear wheels back far enough to tighten track. Maybe I'm doing something wrong:confused:

Could go to a 9" wheel. Probably just not enough rail left to suck up the track tension. 144" rails with a 156" ext to a 159" track is a big jump.
