So here is my build thread for my 13' BrattJet MiniBoat. I had both the hull and intake housing built by BrattJet, and I am using a complete 2007 Seadoo RXP 215 for a donor motor. I picked up my hull on the 24th and have slowly been progressing since, trying to work on it when I can after work and on weekends. I also built my own trailer for it, and have since got a VIN assigned to it.
Here's a start of the trailer:

Thanks, is he building a BrattJet, Eagle, or building the hull himself? I was just over $10k with this one by time i walked out the door, but i got it stretched 6" from 12' 6" to 13', and got a 3/8" keel welded in, plus a couple steering parts. I think their goal with these is to have guys running on the water in the $20k-$25k range depending on what you pay for the donor motor, and other options obviously.

Building himself. The first one was a 10 ft with a 580 seadoo engine and the next one he has an 800 to put in it. He bought plans for the hull and bought enough material for three hulls. What was your reason for stretching it 6"?? I would be happy with 12'6" as 10ft is too tight.

I went a 6" longer just for a touch more leg room and room in the boat, that and 13' would seem to put the superstitious people off a little. That and I figure it might make it a little more stable especially with 215hp pushing it lol

So I managed to get the motor situated and bolted in yesterday, probably pulled it in and out about 4 times to finally get it though. Apparently there are very few places on these motors that are square or level to the crank to get everything lined up, but I did manage to find some. IMG_20150704_213244.jpg IMG_20150704_213254.jpg

That motor actually looks a little small in the hull, but should leave lots of room for everything else that still has to go in.

Well it's normally made for someone to sit overtop it and straddle it so it has to be small but I think with 200+ horses that'll be a sweet little boat when your done!

I got pretty much the same set up. They actually weld really well.
I like this thread and will be following it closely

So here's what little i got done today, I took the stock muffler and modified the inlet nozzle so i could position better it within the hull.

After with the nozzle moved and muffler bolted in. Also shown is the mounts for the fuel tank i also built, but not yet welded in.

I'm thinking about a Yamaha 1200 in an Eagle hull. The sea doo would make the most sense, but would put the project over budget I think.

Awesome! Keep posting build shots! This is great!

That's kinda what I started out thinking too, I was going to build a boat around an 800cc seadoo but then started to believe that it would lack a little on power and if I was going to be spending all the money on a hull and everything else I might as well put the engine I wanted in it. That and these motors are fairly common so parts are relatively easy to come by. These motors are also fairly compact as well, so almost exactly half of the interior room will be left for the occupants and a little bit of storage.

Sorry guys, been busy the past few months, between holidays, work and school the boat has taken a back seat. But here it is, finally got it on the water last week. Had a few setbacks, had to change the headgasket on the motor as it was pushing oil out from the high pressure supply to the head. I still need to build the motor cover, roll cage, reverse lever, and add all the switches to the dash. But it does 97km/hr gps with 2 180 lb guys and half a tank of fuel.
