Only reason to change would be for high speed riding or larger than 28" tires. Rule of thumb for offroading is that your rim should be less than half of your tire diameter.
I run 30" Zillas on 14" beadlocks so far so good. other than they rub too much.
I like 14's as well because it puts more clearance between the inside of the rim and the brake system. Makes it harder for stuff to get jammed in there.
