Just picked up a used sled. Currently the sled is pre-mix which is kind of a pain. Is there any benefit of pre-mix vs oil injection? Just running regular pump 91/94 octane.

Also there is an oil leak around the rave, not sure if its just a gasket or what.

Premix is about 10lbs lighter, way more accurate, uses less oil, and doesn't depend on an oil pump and all that goes along with it like proper bleeding. That said I am used to premixing for my bike so it isn't a big deal.

Mixing fuel you can't borrow gas on the hill if you run out unless you carry extra oil.

Don't know whos 860 but run good gas and check compression to be sure as the to level of octane you need. Most times it is gas that kills these motors.
Pre-mix isn't a big deal if you run extra oil in gas anyway which you should with the ptec motors.

Pack some extra with you just in case you need to mix some up on the hill.

Compression was 155psi both sides. Yeah I on going to pull the oil tank out of it than. It is already premix so might as well remove the tank than. Anyone know if the old oil pump block off plates fit the p-tek? I seen a forum that a guy did a oiler delete on a rev. Looked simple and lost 10lbs.

Jesse_1 i will send you the parts list you need to do this. Yes the block off plate is the same. The sled doesn't have this gone . If you are going to need to pull pump the motor has to be removed or loosened and tipped ahead to complete .

But I can pull the tank and just run a small resi for the water pump gears and what not? Also have you heard of the rave valve vent hose being unplugged and capped off?

You can pull the tank but you need brakets to hold recoil handle, ecm. All you need is a hose with a breather running up to about the level of the oil tank for the oil pump.
I ordered and installed small tank that is for the 440 and 600 race sleds. Picture attached is of another sled i found on line.
Parts list below. About $300 for everything.

512060491 Grip support
512060337 ECM support
512060379 Tank Support
570069700 Rubber Latch for ECM
420810825 Cover plate for oil pump
420931566 Gasket
420956240 Oil tank
420960279 Tank cap
420874370 Fitting for oil line
512060380 Rear noice shield , this really isnt needed. Its the one in the picture that joins the to together.
