So my 07 800r X had the crank go this past weekend, with about 5000km on it. Just dropped off to have it checked out for how much $$$ to fix.
What has it cost other people out there to get this problem fixed?

With all the problems with this year of motor, I heard that Ski-doo was giving the parts out of goodwill even though warrenty is up, and all some people have had to pay for is the labour.

Can anyone confirm this.

depends on ur dealer etcetc

but usually a shortblock is 2000 + labour

its more economical because its only 3-4 hours to swap

rather than getting a new crank splitting the cases and rebuilding could be 8-10 hours

Murninator, I see I have the same sled as yours, if it is the same one in your avitar. Anyways, how long after your warrentee was up did yours fail, and which dealer did you deal with?

Thanks for the info, mine was up around the same time, I am dealing with Martin West end, will let you know how it turns out.
Hopefully will be a happy story. So did they give you a new short block?
and how has the machine been since?

Sounds like parts will be Goodwilled, and all I will have to pay for is the labour as well. Just want it back soon as leaving for Stewart in 11 days.
