my bro has a 162 04 King Cat 900 carb. He's wondering what is a good gearing combo,as well as clutching. He has taken it out but feels like it should be alot better than what it is.On flat land it hits around 90mph,in powder it's not as good as it should be.He was playing around in MB and a 700 sks stock in powder would beat it.Like i said he feels it should be way better than what it is.If anyone has any advice please let me know,Thanks

ps. what is the stock setting on the sled?

What track length? My 162" has stock clutching and gearing. Ti spring package in both clutches, stock multi angle in the secondary. Stock 19/43 gearing. No way a stock 700 anything will touch it in powder.

How long since the clutches have been cleaned? Is he getting full rpm's? How far is the belt sticking out of the secondary? Has he cleaned the power valves lately?

Many things to check.
