Bought an 04 1M 900 with EFI 159 track, slp pipe/can, v force reeds, 2500miles, starts 2nd or 3rdcpull even at minus 30, just wondering what some of the most common issues with this model were/are, online searches have been vague at best, got that it's a reliable tough sled and other than being 495lbs and riding a little rough they are pretty good. Any insight will be aprreciated

If it still has the stock parabolic skis you might want to look for something better. I have an '03 and the skis suck. They throw snow and in the deep powder they sink when you slow or stop. I'm looking for a set of used SLPs.

thanks I think mine are aftermarket, look fairly wide and haven't given too much snow in the face yet, as for the bog issues when layin it over can side, built a deflector and cured it a bit, still annoying, gonna try the airbox mod out

Mine has a snorkel air intake out through where the speedo used to go, fresh air seems to help. Ive also heard blocking off the air intake near the footwells on the engine side helps as it will only draw in fresh cold air and not warm air.

Are the stock skis C&A? The ones mine came with are skinny and yeah seem to sink alot. I just bought some second hand M1000 skis, waiting for them to arrive, should help a bit I hope!!

Sorry no pics of it. I do all my foruming at work and I always forget to take pics of things when I get home. Its fairly common, searching around here or on Snowest.com should come up with plenty of pics.

The stock skis are Arctic Cats. C&A is an aftermarket ski. If the M1000s will fit they should work better.

thanks for the replies, took it to the mountains and had alot of fun, these are cool machines, no bog issues up there other than one counter steer in a deep wind blow gulley, lookin like I'm going to upgrade to the new chassis though and pass this one on, it'll go where I want but it's suspension is fairly stiff and with my knee the way it is it'd probably double my longevity running a new one

same thing happened to the previous owner so this one has an aftermarket secondary with a whole pile of different weights, seems good as is though

Got the skis for 150 bucks shipped so not complaining. They are a ton better than the C&A's that I had on. Dunno why someone put trail skis on a modded mountain sled.

Here are some pics of the snorkel, dont notice any bog and I just got back from 3ft freshies in Sicamous!! Best 3 days sledding ever!
