gonna be diving into my griz this upcomming weekend. it developed a tick sound in the engine last fall that becomes much more noticable at higher rpms. no one seems to know what it may be, but i suspect a conecting rod.... kinda swamped it a few too many times :d but i will post my findings when i get to the root of my problem.

Well tore into it and found a damaged wrist pin. Conecting rod was fine and within specs. Replaced the piston, wrist pin, and put a new cam in for kicks. Fired it up, and the noise is still there. So looks like I'm splittin the case... Crank bearings are a likely suspect now. Only time will tell.

well split the case and couldnt find anything out of the ordinary wrong. so replaced the crank and rod assembly, put it back together and that seemed to cure the noise. ran it over the weekend and so far so good. so i guess its safe to say that the rod was the problem right from the start.
