I have a 1985 yz 250. I replaced my throttle tube, got everything back together (it was cracked and got glue from putting on new grips). Once I finally got the bike to turnover it was wide open. At one point it was getting so much gas that the kill switch wouldn't work. I thought it was cause the float in the carb was stuck open, so we cleaned the carb. Now the bike won't start at all. New spark plug. It ran fine before I messed with the throttle tube. The throttle cable seems fine. The bike ran wide open even when the throttle cable was disconnected from the throttle tube. Any ideas? Help is greatly appreciated! The bike was a little hard to start before, think it was the spark plug. But it ran fine once it was started, but not anymore :/

Check compression, a 2 stroke wound out with no load won't last more than a couple seconds before blowing up. Did the cable move freely when disconected from the twist? Your slide runs on guide pins, pull the top cap off the carb and check the grooves on the slide there may be a burr or a knotch that could cause it to hang up.
