You don't have to spend 80k+ on a half ton, but if you want one that is really nice you can.

There is cars out there that cost millions of dollars, but you could also buy a kia. Choices are good

I get 18/100 km with my halfton. Our duramax diesels aren't much better, but could be the driver....
I had to bite my lip forkin out $8500 for an old dirtymax lol. Gets me from A to B and isn't an EcoBoost......so there's that.

EB was great truck, but 40L/100 towing a 23ft camper to Sylvan Lake is a joke.

And timing chain stretch=no good.

If it's working for you then roll with it.

Buddy of mine just got a 2001 chev half ton for 500$!

I could have bought close to 200 of those trucks for the price of 1 new one.. could have started a used car lot with in house sub prime finacing! lol

Well here you go! As I mentioned before I sold my 2012 F250 diesel that had a payload of 1980lbs and this is a 2018 F150 ordered with the heavy-duty payload and tow package and has 500lbs more payload than the truck I sold. Deck is mounted and ready for action! So far I am very impressed in its handling characteristics! I have not had two on yet but might on Wednesday.

My buddy sold his F350 and went with a new Platinum 1/2 ton with the heavy duty payload and hauls 2 sled on his deck and went to Sicamous with it and had no issues. Got weighed at a scale and he was under with all his gear and bags etc...
