Self intitlement at the highest level.
There will be snow again next year.is it really worth the extra exposure to ones self and others.
I like sledding also but if either my daughter or I catch this it will not be easy to recover without medical help.
Just not worth the risk to us to over expose.
Sleds are put away.
To each their own......not really as in these times your actions can affect the life of others.

I agree, well said.
Im also done for the season. It was great riding with you bud! Had some great times this year, and a great season.
I like sledding but I would love for things to go back to normal for all of us, So I will do my part and stay home. Family first.

My season is just starting to kick in. Spring is best for glacier riding.
I use food from home, fill at pump with no human contact and go sledding. Maintain 6 ft from sled buddies and off we go!
If I end up in the hospital, I end up in hospital.

Kanedog, i work in the first responder sector. Nurse and doctors are over worked. As these front line works get sick taking care of idiots like you the rest will be over worked even more. Then idiots like you will over crowd hospitals, and the beds will be all full and some one will be left out. This could be you, if you dont care just go sledding and never come back . Do you get it you selfless person.
Theres that "entitlement" . I think that if you can get to the hill with little to no contact with the rest of the public, than being on a mountain would be the only place other than home a guy should be!! Doesn't get much cleaner than that. Don't go in the cabins if you have concerns but my point being is " Don't be an idiot"

Easy mother Teresa, if a guy wants to go out in the middle of no where and ride and there is nobody around there is nothing wrong with that, pay at the pump, bring food and beverage from home seems legit.You cant catch it from the air and sure as hell cant invent the virus. It lives on a surface for up to 9 hours in "perfect conditions", a lot less in colder weather and dies right away below 26* farenheit. You sound dumb when you speak your communist manifesto trash to others that are not doing anything wrong. Its not like he said he's organizing a huge group ride, come one come all to ride with the self appointed clutch master or anything. Im riding this week out in the hills north of town.......... better call the cops on me stalin....... im a bad fellow

I don’t agree that people shouldn’t go riding...I think it’s good for the mental and physical health. Keep human contact to a bare minimum and keep the risk taking to a low level. I rode Saturday and Sunday (local in Fernie) and our group rode on the conservative side of the scale. We each drove our own trucks and kept a distance from each other.

We are still riding....its great to get out in the sun. Fortunate to live in the riding area. Less exposure to other people than getting groceries.Going this afternoon

Those snowy peaks will be there in 7 months. Not that long. Now if you have no living relatives, no friends and no one that you give a **** about go ahead. At least do the right thing, put a note on the dash and write don't come looking for -----. The rest of us that would possibly need the medical system appreciate it.

I don't see a problem if someone lives close a riding area, and rides with someone from the same household.
Has one person per truck getting there if you are ride with a friend , also stay a few meters from each other.
But a group of guys heading out for the weekend no stay the f××× home.
If you do ride, ride way under your skill level so your riding parter will not have to help you, or S&R won't have to be called out ( if they would come at all )
the one thing is if your sled breaks down you then you will need help.
So figure out what is more important to you.
Who knows we could have a lock down.

I'll just add to what the original post request was about without adding into all the comments.
We were in Valemount this past weekend and stayed at the B/W. Accomodations are available, but with limited services and we were completely fine with that. Pool/hot tub/gym are shut down for obvious reasons. Summit Grill restaurant was closed to sit in after Friday night, but available for take out or to order and take back to room. Breakfast buffet is suspended and they provided us with a hot breakfast in a "to go" container Saturday morning and a cold breakfast in a bag to go on Sunday morning which was picked up at front desk when we checked out.
Only the 2 of us in truck coming from country living. Only the 2 of us riding together over the weekend.
Rode Renshaw on Saturday. Decent snow. Parked away from group when dropping fuel at cabin. A lot of sleds and sledders hanging around the cabin and hanging out in the cabin. Guess some didn't get the memo to stay out of the cabins/shelters. Trail in good shape.
Rode Clemina Sunday. 6 truck/trailer units and 1 truck/deck. Drove by the cabin going in and out and no one parked there. Snow was ok. Trail in great shape.
Be smart and stay healthy everyone!!

Well, should I stop driving because I might get in an accident and clog up the hospitals? The message, in case you didn’t get it from from Search and Rescue, was stick to mellow terrain choices. Take it up with the Provincial govt and voice your opinion over there. No need to call me names.
Anyways, should I drop clutch weight and stay in clicker 1? Or should I move to clicker 2 and fine tune from there? Maybe you and your boy band of likers can offer some sled info. This is snow and mud. Not covid and mud. Haha Pete gads gonads!

This is why the government is going to step in soon and have most travel shut down.

It we had a leader in Ottawa things would be shut down already, but because he has no balls he is waiting for the civic and provincial governments to make the hard decisions.

your talking about a remote possibility of a few rescue personnel having to rescue one person.
How about the Cashiers in grocery stores, they are literally face to face with hundreds if not thousands of people daily , I asked a cashier in GP the other day if she was eligible for danger pay. She said this is definitely not what she signed up for and was more concerned with taking something home to her family. I feel bad for these people just trying to make ends meet.
Im still working and the crews working for me are in a base camp south of GP. We definitely cannot follow a 6 ft personal space rule out here.
I get the reasoning for trying to contain this virus but some of us do not have the luxury of being able to hide out at home.
so I’m thinking there are far worse things than a few people heading out sledding for the day.( Grocery clerk come to mind)
