We learned the hard way last year (This same August long weekend) to carry some winter clothes. It was only 7 celcius and with the wind off the lake it seemed much colder.

I rode for 2 hours yesterday and the idle was steady at 1200rpm. By the third hour it was slowly comming down each time I stopped. It does seem like the screw backs off a bit over time. No big deal I guess,I'll just try some lock thread for now.

Is power steering only on some of the new machines or can you get it on some older machines?

My 500 HO runs great but it idles low, about 850-900rpm. I've adjusted the carburator to idle higher and that works fine until i've ridden for awhile. It seems to come back down in rpm the more i drive until i adjust it again. I would have thought that once i set the idle it should stay there. ?.

Just had my new sportsman 500 out last week for my first ride and loved every bit of it. Loved my shovel just as much but still fun. I'm just so impressed at how much I could store in the front storage area. I got everything in there except for the shovel that was straped to the back.

You need 4 straps to tie down the quad. Just use 2 of them to anchor the ramps until loaded. I asked the same question and someone sent me a video of ramps coming off while unloading and it was scary. Just a few seconds and the ramps are secured tight.:beer:

Anybody have a polaris winch from the dealer? I'm thinking of getting one and was wondering if there were any opinions, good or bad. Thanks.

Are there any trails near the David Thompson Resort on hywy 11 west of rocky mountain house where the cline river meets Abraham lake? Or is this area off limits? I've got a trail book but I'm unsure. I'm guessing I have to come back east to the Big Horn Dam area.
