Where there any teething problems with them or are they essentially the same 2011 & 2012? Thought there were turbo and shift solenoid issues? Just getting a feel for the water before I jump. Lots of diesel experience just none involving the 6.7.
Thanks.
Looking at a couple 2011 F350's w/6.7 and was wondering what to watch for or if it would be better to skip to 2012? Any first year issues/teething problems?
Thanks,
Mark
Installed firestone bags with individual lines routed to the rear bumper license plate holes. Bought 12V comp. but never use it, a bicycle pump and @10 pumps in each bag gets me 25psi. Fast easy and inexpensive.
If they want to find the Torq2, they will. As soon as you add HP or Torq the values will be stored in the vehicles computer, if they read higher than the rated values, well you know the rest.
I'm a GM diesel tech and the manufacturer's require snap shots of the stored computer parameters prior...
Run the Cognito kit on a Chev/GMC with replacement shocks on all 4 corners. If you go this route however have the old style GM upper ball joints installed right off the bat, the cognito ones will not last.
If your interested I also have a set of Michelin AT2 LT265/70R18 and am located in Sundre as well.
I tried the AT2's briefly but am currently running DuraTrac's for the winter and will probably run the Fierce Attitude M/T for the summer.
yeah h&s is only one for 11's but if H&S has tunning for it you can guarantee it wont be long for efi to have it but efi is really concentrating on there dodge tunning wich they just started doing
May want to read efi live's stance on the GM ECM. Sounds like it has been shelved due to the...
On a 2011 Dmax efi live, PPE, Edge, etc.. will NOT work the ONLY programmer capable of DPF/DEF,(Urea) delete for 2011 & 2012 Dmax is the H&S. Go to: Fifth Generation Duramax Electronics - Diesel Place : Chevrolet and GMC Diesel Truck Forums Lots of information.
One of the big reasons for deleting all the emission components is to be able to allow vehicle to idle for extended periods. Already spoke with oil field personnel and welders considering gas vehicles for this reason. What do you do when working in a remote region at temps. in the -30 to -40 range?
Not sure on Dodge either. But with GM anything related to the power train requires GM approval prior to starting warranty repairs. They want screen shots showing ECM data.. Then they inform whether or not repairs will be covered, the dealer does not have the final say here.
Not trying to say...
Until they look at max. torque values and your over spec. Not sure if the Dodge ECM or TCM stores this data but the D-Max does. The foot print does not necessarily need to be the tune but the results of it.
I agree they run better and will most likely last longer with better milage, just be...
It's not the dealership but the people who work there and you find them in all walks of life.
My 2007 LBZ w/4" exhaust, PPE level 2, leveled running DuraTrac's 275/70/18 gets 20-21 with 265/70/18 Michelin's currently getting @22 MPG. All hand caculated highway miles.
Honesty is the best policy here, that and a good/understanding dealer. I agree that getting rid of the emisions stuff helps them breath and fuel milage increases. Just be careful some dealers may not be as understanding.
