When I had Skinz Running boards they were amazing and never collected snow until I installed those plastic traction clips. They would form little balls of snow. If I did it all over again I would stick to screws. Better grip and now snow buildup. Sure they are hard on gear but IMO worth it.
Whatever you do do not buy the traction cleats that Skinz sells. They are terrible, ball up with ice and make your boards totally useless. I was about to drill them all out but then I bent the tunnel so ended up replacing the whole thing with CR racing tunnel & boards. CR racing boards are...
I've wanted to do this since I first got my ski boot stuck a year or two ago but have been scared it would compromise the structure/strength somehow...
I like the teflon spacer idea, may have to give that a shot. Thick zap straps might be even easier, quick easy and cheap me likey...
I can't be the only one who has gotten his feet stuck in the foothoops of my sled? With riding boots on it can happen, with ski boots it is really bad.
Anyone fixed this? Cut the hoop off entirely? Trying to decide if it is worth buying these Or if I should risk just cutting it off entirely.
