Spent 14 hours in them today............dry feet......I think they are going to work great for me........lots of support and not bulky. ( well OK I have ginourmous feet ...sz. 14 boots...not as bulky as they could be )

Alcohol stoves are good up to a certain point.........they do not work at extreme cold temperatures unless the fuel is warmed up first..........good for general use, definately not what I would choose for an emergency stove.
I would look for another stove for emergency winter use.....spent the night in Kakwa last year......got to -22 in the tent none of the compressed gas stoves would light.....used a MSR multifuel with gasoline and had no problems. I spend 15-20 nights out every winter with the Canadian Rangers...

there is a plastic product called Kydex that is heat formed.....knife sheaths and holsters are made from it.........you can buy it in lots of sizes and it can be heated in an oven and then formed
A buddy and I both bought skidoo's heated goggles last year........I would not give them up for double the price ( Ok thats a lie.......I'd buy two pairs then)
