Pro's/Con's of single pipe vs. twins?

I guess thats the real question... how much "tuneing" is there with an EFI system? I know you need to re-flash the computer (the one I looked at didnt have a fuel controller on it), weight-to-horsepower gain seems acceptable, can get around the heat issue, I actually have an EGT ready to...

Pro's/Con's of single pipe vs. twins?

Thanks for the input... its kinda along the lines of what I've always been told. Am just wondering with technology where it is today... would twins be an "upgrade" on an efi mountain sled (specifically M8)? I had a '99 700 RMK with a 151", had twins and ran HARD! Didnt really notice ant lack of...

"POWDERCREW" is taking over the NEV/CALI thread!...

It was looked at and talked about for more than 10 years. IMPULSE Turbos out of Utah put 3 sleds on the top last season... the rest of the year was discussion whether is was actually "steep" or not. Im not looking to start that arguement again, it was pretty bad*ss that it was finally conquered...

"POWDERCREW" is taking over the NEV/CALI thread!...

In case anyone was wondering "whats Terminal Cancer?" Last year it was conquered by the Impulse turbo crew out of Utah, the sleds had to be lifted off the top. We're looking to be the FIRST naturally aspirated sleds up it and the FIRST ones to RIDE BACK DOWN!

"POWDERCREW" is taking over the NEV/CALI thread!...

Well... whats happening: Work is being done on the 2012 season video. There is some early discussions to do an Elko Film Premiere with Dan Gardiner and the crew from BOONDOCKERS this season as some of our footage was used in their film. The film outta' Elko (Highcountry Octane Productions) would...

"POWDERCREW" is taking over the NEV/CALI thread!...

Hey "D"... 'ol Powdercrew could provide the "guide service" for that trip! haha... Elko, NV has it all with some EPIC rideing in the 10,000-11,000 foot Ruby Mountains 20 min from town. Probably wouldnt rate the "service" as "classy" as Reno though. But if your looking for "the ride" with some...

"POWDERCREW" is taking over the NEV/CALI thread!...

...not "officially" mind you. Since the SnoWest debacle... there has really been no activity on ANY of the forums from the Nevada/California boys. So, I try to keep anyone whos interested on the happenings "on our mountains" up to date or field any questions...

    A "real" world sledding video...

Its a necessatity out here! Just better know how to use it. Plus... its the only thing that will lift that truck high enough. (the HI-LIFT was almost maxed out) Could carry a heavy floor jack, but that doesnt do any good when stuck out in the mtns... thanks for the replies!

Pro's/Con's of single pipe vs. twins?

When I bought my M8, there was one for sale next to it with twins. I bought the stock set-up. But I've been wondering ever since, other than the modest horsepower gain... what are the differences to going with twins? Figure there must be, or they'd all have 'em... right? Im gonna install a full...
