Healey Creek Mine trail, Triune Mine trail

Did you make it to Trout lake? Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. We were into Healy Aug '13 and was passable on quads but needed some more digging to get a sxs thru. As for Triune last time up was quite a few years ago, - '06 I think but I heard there was a slough last year that needed a...

    Alpine mine is no more!

First I heard of this road deactivation and it's a piss off. I've only been up Sitkum once, luckily I took a bunch of pics before the fire in '07. Got some up on GE too. If anyone is in for a bit of trail reconstruction let me know, I have a few friends who would like to see that opened up...

    Piston gone - Sledbunnyracing

Kind of looks like a "4 corner" sieze, did it get rode hard from the parking lot with little to no warm up by any chance? :D

BRP Lynx Release - very interesting!

So any idea what "3900" means? I was told Skidoo used this for horsepower? Citation 3500 - 35 hp, Blizzard 7500 - 75hp, blizzard 9500 - 95hp? Or is what it will feel like in pounds when it's stuck? :D

Snow and Mudders, fight the caribou!….closures.

I've always wondered why the enviro's use the reason "snowmobiles leave a hard packed trail that allows predators of caribou to easily hunt them". Don't you think the caribou would use these same hard pack trails to run away from wolves? Think about it, if their thinking was true then caribou...

Size of Backpack - Recommendations ...

I'm selling my BCA Float 32, bought it off a buddy in Dec '13 (he bought it new 2 years ago) but haven't been out once this year. Bag is like new still. $500

    2011 pro rmk 800

My '12 does it too. I would have took it back for repair but couldn't be bothered. Local dealer would have just charged me anyways even though it would was under warranty first time it did it. Either that or they "wouldn't be able to duplicate the problem", heard that several times with my...

Denali decks .... I guess you get what you pay for :(

I bought a used Denali 3 years ago and only issue is wiring. Knowing it was a cheap unit, I expected problems like cracking and thought I'd be doing some welding but holding up fine. The deck stays on my truck 12 months/year, I use it for sleds and quads. Even 2 heavy Polaris quads haven't...

    Stripped Bolts

Like some guys already stated, a little heat with loctite helps. A trick I use is to tighten the bolt just a bit first then try loosening it. And of course good quality tools help, cheap ones round off their points quickly and result in what you have here.

I was just thinking how bad it's going to shake when half of a tire is filled with 20lbs of mud lol :D

    Elkford Flooding, June 2013

Wasn't bad at all, the entrance into the canyon was the worst part, made for a nice technical ride but still easy.

    Quadding the Incomappleux valley

All of that area from Beaton to Meadow creek on the Duncan lake is awesome. Do yourself a favour and take the last 2 weeks of August to see it all. Any sooner and you'll hit snow from the previous winter and many times after the Sept long weekend you'll run into fresh snow :D

    New Skidplates

I put Ricochet skids on both my quads, pricey but well worth the money. Heavy aluminum and they stay on, haven't had to even tighten a single fastener. Only issue I have is where the bolts (allen heads) are on the bottom, they should have a 1/4" lip all around the bolt on the skid plate...

    Feedback on komodo 1000efi 4x4........

Is it me or does that steering seem to have way too much play? I've never driven a SxS so is this normal? If I turned the wheel on my truck that much while driving at 50km/h I'd be doing donuts lol!

    Quadding the Incomappleux valley

That picture looks like the canyon just north of Beaton and if it is, then it's been cleared. We were up Pool/Mohawk creek a few weeks ago. Didn't go any further then Canmore (sp?) so can't speak for the rest of the valley.

    Riding in Kimberly

West of St Mary lake has a lot of logging roads and you can go all the way to Kootenay lake on either Gray ck pass (if it's open) or over Rose pass. There's a nice viewpoint overlooking Hall lake about half way to Gray creek up a bunch of switchbacks. And there are some great trails south/east...

    4 stroke

I'd really like to try a turbo 4 stroke Cat but we ride mostly trees and my '12 RMK800 is so easy to throw around. If I was 20 years younger I'd probably go with the 4 stroke but getting too old and out of shape to wrestle that extra weight all day :D

Best places to Quad and Camp in BC

Not sure if you were up there last year but the main road along the valley bottom has a big slough that has been somewhat fixed by atvers. We all rode through with care but on the way back I stopped and helped a couple of guys, 2 spots you could end up in trouble if you're not somewhat...
