More than likely they came in Holmes river and up Chalco Creek, then wiggled there way onto Loren Lake. There was logging cutblocks from many years ago back there. They definitely did not drop down from Mt Mikado, we’ve tried every creek and gully as it just gets to steep and narrow.

We always carry extra fuel, as others have said sometimes two jerry cans. Especially when days get longer and a guy wakes up to bluebird days after a nice snow storm. Not unusual for a 150-175km day at the renshaw. Last March, 5 of us in our group only 2 guys made it back to truck (on fumes)...
This is what we had to do, line was a few inches short so took the breather off the chain case and stuffed it in the broke nipple. It fit perfect, able to ride out. Same scenario, little creek monster, no damage, little jarring and bam! Broke nipple.
