I known of a few beginners that started out on big machines and had trouble controlling them. Too much power can be intimidating if your not used to it. I think that a 600 with a 144" track is a excellent starter sled with lots of potential.

A buddy of mine is looking at a 07 Vector Mnt and wants some opinions on them. The price is good but it is a 162" track with only 120 hp. The 4 stroke torque is suposed to make a a big difference but he is a bigger guy. I think it would be a good all around power machine. Maybe a shot of juice...

Sounds like B.S to me. As long as you are prepared to do tunnel and rail extentions you can go as long as you want.

I want to put a deck on my short box Dodge 3/4 ton, and I'm finding that many of the decks for short boxes are only around 7 ft long. My sled is a M8 153". Will it fit on a 7 ft deck? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I run Interco Truxus M/T 10 ply's on my dodge. Excellent load ratings. The only other 10 ply/E tires that I know of are Toyo Tires . Last year when I was tire shopping these were the only two tires on the market that had an agressive tread pattern and 10 ply rating.

I also picked up an 07 M8 this year. The dealer (Echo) told me that an Arctic Cat M7 (2006) secondary conversion kit was a good idea. I haven't rode mine yet but apparently track speed is a little weak. The M7 kit is supposed to give 5 +/- mph track speed increase. I put the kit in, about $250.

Has anyone been sledding in the Swan Hills or Slave Lake areas during the last few days? We heard there is lots of snow there but we're looking for confirmation that the sledding is good. If so, where's the best place to stage?
