I did it on my 07 REV, wiring wasnt to bad as long as you have a wiring diagram. I bought a new RER switch for a 01/02 MXZ part#415101200 and some 3 position toggle switches with water proof covers from NAPA.

Have you looked into snowboard pipe gloves? I have a set of Volcom, pretty thin, rubber grips on the palm, water resistant. Pow also makes some thin gloves as well.

I did think of building on like you have, but I want to keep my tailgate up, truck is only a couple months old. I think there would be to much of a pivot point if I removed my tailgate and built a platform type deck.

I'm kinda thinking of finding a old steel 2 place and cutting it down to fit my box

Anyone know who makes a single sled, sled deck, something that I can keep the tailgate up and will fit in a F 150 with the 5.5' box?

You can remove it without cutting it in half, takes a bit of messing around but it can be done.
