    Great Ride

I didn't see any deer until I took the lead going to the cabin. I guess it's true what they say, unless you're the lead dog the view never changes lol

No O.H.V.'s at Catararct Creek Snow Vehicle Public Land Use Zone - Only Snowmobiles

Do you think that is more of a reason for the closures than snowmobiles ? If no one stands up and says they want to use the area for their sport , why would the government include them in the law making process ?

No O.H.V.'s at Catararct Creek Snow Vehicle Public Land Use Zone - Only Snowmobiles

I agree completely. I think the clubs for the affected machines should be lobbying the government and presenting this information to change the laws. Until they do , they must respect that the laws are in place.

I'm not trying to say one group is better or worse than the other. Powersports in general receives a lot of bad press and non-riders don't see any difference between snowmobiles and atv's. The unfortunate fact is when the environmentalists go for their summer stroll , the impact left by atv's...

Grooming also provides a snow pack that melts slower than loose snow , providing more effective ground protection. Most (not all) snowmobile clubs put in a lot of effort and donate a lot of volunteer hours grooming and maintaining trails. No other powersport devotes this kind of time and effort...

No O.H.V.'s at Catararct Creek Snow Vehicle Public Land Use Zone - Only Snowmobiles

Grooming allows sled traffic to stay contained by providing a single trail instead of having sleds wandering off-trail to the smoother areas thus utilizing less area and causing less impact on the environment. I don't see how you can say the use of WHEELED atv's does not interfere with the...

Are you my stalker that you know what I have and have not ridden and what conditions I have ridden in ? To clarify . I quoted the post ABOVE the post referring to tracked atv , which was concerning atv tracks , not tracked atv's.

No amount of suspension will keep a ski from dropping into an 8 inch deep quad rut. The lack of flotation on an atv combined with with the lack of traction they have in deep snow results in them leaving ruts the entire width of the trail as the try to power through conditions which the machines...

    New season

The photos were taken right after the initial purchase at auction. A sled deck and tool box has been added to the groomer since then. A blade for the tractor is also in progress. Blade mount requires a bit of work to get it operational.

    Trail Seekers Stony/Grove

I've only ridden there a couple of times, and haven't been back since they broke away from the ASA. Charging the same price for their trails as the ASA charges for a province wide pass seemed like a bit of a rip off to me. There are better areas to ride without getting involved with their...

    Ram handlebar mount

I'm running a Ram mount for the Rino 530 on my summit. Didn't move at all over the weekend, and the trails were getting very rough by the end of the day. I have the long arm version, and its mounted so the arm is sitting horizontal. If it does get a little wobbly , you can just give the screw an...

    Club trail talk and discussion

With the warmer weather and light snow conditions , all signage, trail markers and hazards markers have been removed from the south end of the trail system between the Barrhead and Vega staging areas . At this point the trail is not officially closed. Use caution when riding in this area and...

    Trip Planning...Need Some Direction

The staging area in town is directly east of the RCMP / Fire Department. We share the truck parking lot. At Vega , parking is on the side of the road , so it depends how many vehicles are in your group. I know there is an ice crossing located on the Trans- Canada trail , not sure what other...

How Do You Get A Moose Of The Trail ?

No kidding. Did you see how he stands up and guns the throttle a few times as he got closer ? Show aggression to a moose and they will return the favor !! You can't charge at them without expecting them to charge back.

    Feb 22 family fun ride

Most of the trails in this area weave through mature forest with moderate hilly sections so not a lot of area to open it up. Lots of wildlife around the trail system. Makes it worth travelling a bit slower and taking in the sights.
