Superwinch Terra series....the 3500lb is fairly frequently on sale at princess auto for $250 or less. Its fast quiet and very tough and durable. If you want synthetic you'd have to get it separately but that can be done for pretty cheap online.

Got out for a few hrs today. Gettin pretty good in Saddle Hills now. Few skeg holes are pretty deep already, lots with frozen bottom still. Quite a bit of snow yet in spots but mostly manageable, pretty slushy and can blast through it. All in all some fantastic spring riding conditions...
