It thing the fan kit is around $100, and it's very easy to install. It's well worth it if you do the technical single track stuff and steep climbs. It's really nice to have if you ever happen to get stuck in traffic somewhere too.

The 450s in the years your looking at have the RFS engine, and to my mind, it's pretty much bulletproof. You'll hear a lot of horror stories - mostly from guys that have never ridden a KTM - about maintenance, but they don't take any more work than any other brand of bike, and with the RFS...
To answer the original question about heat, the Rekluse clutch works by slipping the clutch plates, and as such, if you ride it in a way that causes the clutch to be slipping the plates a lot - riding in too high a gear is the biggest problem - it will create heat in the clutch. I can't really...
Had Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki over the years, all good bikes, but after buying a KTM, I won't go back. My next one will be orange too.
Power delivery, ride quality, e-start, light weight, ease of maintenance and most important of all, street legal or very easily made street legal all make it...
Re: "Heavy snowpack blamed for delays opening campgrounds and off road trails"
I hope they do.
A ton of hard work could be erased in a weekend, along with the good will that hard work bought us.

Avoid the motorcross bikes completely. I've seen too many guys new to dirtbiking get completely turned off of it by buying 250 and 450 MX bikes as their first bikes. I work with two of them, one has a YZ450 and the other a CRF450R, and they both sit in their garages because neither one...
Way overkill IMHO.
Unless you're abusing the clutch (slipping it a lot at higher RPM), you should be able to go a lot longer than that if you use a good quality synthetic bike transmission specific oil (OEM, Amsoil, Redline, etc..). Use some common sense and you'll be fine.
Regardless of what...
As long as he gets back on the horse, it may take a few laps, but he'll be fine.
When I think back on stuff I broke or wrecked (sleds and my body) I don't think it ever really kicked in for me until I was in my late 20's. Up until then they were just speed bumps to get past as quickly as...
I've heard nothing but good things about Sew Wut in Calgary, including from a couple good friends of mine that had them make covers for them.
Sew Wut Upholstery Inc.
The only problem is, they're so busy, my understanding is you're probably looking at a few months before you can get anything...
Holy Crap! Your kid has brass balls!
I think that's the key, you'd never get my butt out there trying that at my age, and I've been riding all my life. When they start young like that though, I think they just don't know any better! :d
Great to see kids and families getting involved.
