When I looked at the difference between the 550 and 700 Grizz, it looked like the price wasn't much more for the 700, ($800?) and there wasn't any weight savings with the smaller engine. I have the 700, and it is awesome.
Thanks for the list. I am going to assemble a pack this year, although I don't think i will be trying the mountains for a while. I need a little more time to learn my machine, and find an avalache safety course. Of course all of this could come in handy if a guy gets in a jam in the lower...
A co worker of mine from Malaysia has a custom jeep, and he is in a big club there. They are all switching over to Dyneema rope, which is stonger and lighter. Dyneema resists the sun and water better than some synthetics, and they use it for marine applications as well. I found a supplier...
Wow! I am trying to do a similar thing with an old 89 I had and my brothers long track. Except i turns out both engines are shot, so I had to do a rebuild. The longtrack my brother has has been shedded so the original fiberglass looks awesome, and I'm glad to hear I can get a new track for...

I have driven Fords at work (in the oil patch) and love my '02 6.0L 2500 Sierra GMC. The reason Ford is the most popular truck in the patch - cheap fleet pricing. If you want fuel economy, handling, ride, and power, drive GM or Chev. Gas or Diesel, doesn't matter.
I am working on a jack up drilling rig, as a cementer. I just got off and will be quadding this weekend. I wish I was sledding though, I just got a newer phazer before I left.
