Lets start a discussion. How do we fix sledding?

You are right, it's not the OEM's sole responsibility, but they sure could be a leader in getting the message out. The auto manufacturers don't force you to take driving lessons, but they sure have them available if you want to take them. You have a Shelby, you should know this.

Lets start a discussion. How do we fix sledding?

The Calgary Snowmobile Club has been reimbursing AST1 / AST2 courses for years already. This can be taken advantage of every two years you are a club member so it's great for refresher courses as well. I think it is a great idea and more clubs should be doing this for the sake of their members...

Lets start a discussion. How do we fix sledding?

I agree! The OEM's have to come up with a plan that includes the avy training providers. Maybe the avy providers can start the conversation with the OEM's to get them thinking about it. They (OEM's) are the ones building the machines that go where they go with little effort. They should be...

Snowbike use in snow vehicle use areas

Madman, great work on trying to get to the bottom of how to identify snow bikes in the eyes of the government. These bikes are a part of the winter sport now and that part of the community needs to be recognized to keep the future of "our" sport growing. The Calgary Snowmobile Club (CSC) as...

Cataract creek snowmobile area offical thread 2015/16

That good info. We have been going down that road for the past couple of years. Kaz Dog has been doing great work with the government getting us the proper TFA's. And you are right, many hands make for light work. Thanks for the post.

I have re-read my post and I don't think I eluded to any such thing. I am sorry you took it that way.

Cataract creek snowmobile area offical thread 2015/16

I totally agree with what your saying but I also don't think we should shun them either. That segment of snow vehicle is only going to grow and we as motorized winter enthusiasts need a bigger, stronger voice or this area will eventually end up like Castle. So I for one wish that all those...

Cataract creek snowmobile area offical thread 2015/16

There is snow there but REMEMBER, you can not ride there until DECEMBER 1 2015!! Went for a drive down there this morning to walk the dogs and couldn't believe how many "riders" dis-regard this law. If I want to go fishing some where, I find out the regulations for that body of water before I...

Anyone ever bought a sled in a crate? (ie: no $600 dealer PDI)

I understand the legal reasons for the dealer to do the PDI. I just wish they would get someone other than the wash bay kid to do them.

No O.H.V.'s at Catararct Creek Snow Vehicle Public Land Use Zone - Only Snowmobiles

This thread was about Cataract Creek, which is crown land, I get what you are saying though but when trail maintenance is being done with quads, trucks, ect... at Cataract, it is with strict rules and with government supervision. laws are laws and if you want to change them, have at 'er.

Who are Calgary Snowmobile Club Members on S&M?

It's a club ride, so there will be a good group going. The Betties always put on a great weekend, definitely worth the drive. Doug always finds the snow.

No O.H.V.'s at Catararct Creek Snow Vehicle Public Land Use Zone - Only Snowmobiles

Why not run your tracked quad at McLean Creek? It's closer and already designated for quads. OH YA, THAT AREA IS ALREADY F'ED UP BY QUADS!!! Maybe the government see's what happened there and doesn't want it happening at Cataract.

Cataract Creek Snowmobile Area Thread for 2014/15

Fording Pass is accessed from Baril, there is a off shoot trail that is not on the map you have. Loggers is a dead end.
