I am sure you can just order the specific part without the stubs as the website breaks all the parts down individually or just get the whole thing from a wrecker. Re-installation is probably easier by moving the front diff. There is a youtube video somewhere I am sure.
When I run my tracks it's always in 4x4 low, no sharp turns as per Can Am instructions and mentioned by door, but high gear on flat ground with some snow. I went to Stanger Hills and on our way back to the staging area there was a couple quads that couldn't make it up the hill wirhout a good run...
The main trail is multi-use, the snowmobile trails are groomed and have signage.
If you stay on the Lac St Anne ATV trail you should be fine, there is also a map at the staging area.
