Exactly those were the condition as described 🙂 , track must be locked before engaging clutches to protect the drivers and the track but even with poor technique the clutch shouldn’t suffer ...
It is my friends 2018 blue summit x 154 , it happened after a steep descend he made on reverse .... I think the belt was cought between the clutch discs in lower position and riped off with a part of the clutch ... a noise was heard but the sled was still pulling so he tried to get up the hill...
Felt removed , swaybar removed ! 700 km on first belt , hit hardly a tree with a right a arm , nothing wrong with bulkhead a arm lightly bent ( fixed in 20 min) , perfect sled !
Thanks for encouraging me , took them off and it feels softer and even easier to ride! I have tightened the springs 2 numbers but it was too stiff , one and a half is perfect , great in powder , sidehilling , no issues on trail.
Considering riding with no sway bar links to protect the bulkhead from breaking when hitting a rock. Anyone riding with no links? Any suspension setup needed? I ride off trail 90% , mountain and trees but a rough trail may happen too.
That is right I'm a stranger here :) but when it comes to solving problems this site is the best source for snowmobiling knowledge:) Anyway snowmobiling is not that popular here in Europe as in Canada and US.
I wanted to order online a maintenace kit for a drive pulley for my 2013 ski doo summit 8oox XM but can't find the right part number from brp catalog - they show different kits for xp , xr and the only xm I found is 600 , Can anyone help with the right part number?
