  • looks like we are going as far as robb at least thursday night..if i am still good to go we might try to go all the way...good news so far for everyone..wes will be there sat and ya the falls on saturday..cant wait see ya there!!!
    Hello,

Marley is a Golden Lab Greg!

Selena and Tyler will have to jion us on Saturday night or Sunday as they are playing at a soccer ternament on Saturday morning, as Selena is the couch they will have to attend, I can take them to the falls later in the week so they can see them as well.

Where is Spruce Grove or Stony Plain do you want Ryler and I to meet you on Friday AM and at what time Greg?

Cathy will be bringing two vehicles as confirmed last night BTW!
so we will do the ruby falls ride on saturday..that will work...bummer that you cant stay for a few more days tho.
Yes, Norm tried to get Monday off but because they are short handed he can only get Friday. So we'll have to pack up and leave on Sunday.
at the robb entrance there is a large area on the right side of the main hiway..lots of room there to overnight..are you there for only the weekend?
Hi, we've had a slight change of plans on our end. Norm can only get Friday - Sun off, has to be back at work on Monday a.m., so he wants to leave after work Thurs night, otherwise we spend more time driving and zero time relaxing / riding. So, we'll head out Thurs and save the camping spot. We looked at the maps and it looks like we can shave a good hour, if not more, from our drive if we bypass Edmonton. I see below your directions to the camping zones - hopefully we can find it in the dark! If not I suppose we can always pull over by Robb somewhere and snooze until daylight hits early Fri morning.
Norm talked to Cathy, as this doesn't work with her plans to get her machine to Chris's trailer. Not sure what the plan is now with that situation.... Did she talk to you guys at all? We're kind of in a pinch here, things would be easier if Norm could take more time off, but since his helper quit he is swamped at work.
there is gas in robb..not very hilly at least till rob and it is not too much further, you will be o.k...edson is 2 hrs west of the city..then robb is aro 45 min south and around a hour on the pr road..no hurry no worry.
How far is Edson from where we are going to be camping (Norm is still worried about the weight), also he wants to know if we'll be able to get gas in either Cadomin or Robb?
you would need to fill in edson..we dont go as far as hinton..o there are hills on the highway but nothing the ol motorhome cant handle,,sounds like cathy plans to get chris to haul it for her there..it should fit on that big trailer..i hope
Hi - Norm & I will definitely be meeting up with you guys Thursday night. There is a bit of a glitch with Cathy - Harvey may not get the weekend off, so not sure how she's going to haul her machine down. We talked about maybe squeezing it on our trailer if we turned the side x side sideways, but I dont' think it'll fit - plus we haul our 80 gal water tank (probably have to fill it up in whatever town is closest to our destination that has a water station... Hinton maybe?) and thats an awful lot of weight to move with the old motorhome. Is the highway fairly "mountainous"? Lots of hills? Not sure what Cathy has in mind for alternate plan - she was talking something about me driving her truck to stony with her machine on then loading her machine up with someone else and leaving the truck there? Anyways..... I will call her this week to try and see how we can assist.
Robb would be the closest store..with an empty truck you could make it in around 45 min one way..directions..go past hinton, turn left towards robb, pass robb and take the cadomin road.go west until you hit the PR (pembina river) road..turn left(south)if you cross a blue/green steel bridge you went 1 km too far,go down the pr road(very curvy) i think the only real area you come accross it the indian grave(there is a white picket type fence around the grave)right in that area we were planning to camp..there is a 135 degree corner there.that is the grave flats road we can go down there and there are camping spots on both side of the road..i would prefer to go down that road and find a spot on the left where there is a big area on the left with a nice private area..if not we will camp right at the mouth of the trail where there is the big sign saying ruby falls trail..hope this helps..if you want to go out thursday and save us spots that would be great.
We are good GTG Friday (26th) as well, I have taken the day off!

Greg I have a couple questions if you do not mind:
    - Is there a store near the area we will be in (gas, milk, eggs ect.) we would need some supplies after 3-4 days?
    - Is there trails the boys can ride on in the area, we can double them for the more advanced trails but want to make sure they will be able to jion in as well?
    - Can you gives us instructions to get there in the event we get separated?

Stony or Spruce grove for us would be best as we live in Spruce Grove, set a time.... however I am limited to about 107 km/hr after that my fuel economy dissipates from dismal to ouch.. &*^&*^)_&)_!!!! If you will be traveling faster we can set out before you on the Friday!

    -
Had a great time this weekend, just thought I would pass on Selena and I woke up to 4" of snow yesterday morning, we left around 3:00 PM there was close to 12" by the time we left. The boys practiced cutting donuts for hours yesterday until the snow got to deep for them to go!!!
Had a great weekend with the gang at chump, took your advice and signed up on snow and mud.

    Chris and Selena

P.S. - Let me know if the 400 is a possibility, I was doing some searching this evening for a 400 Griz!
