THAT SUCKS! Worst news i've heard this week...

All the guys I ride with switched over to the '17 850 165's last year, some had belt issues and some we fine... funniest response I've ever heard was from a friend who rides over 40 days a year say while blowing a belts every 250km +/-, "it may cost be almost a Dollar a km in belts, but still...

anytime mine had a issues was heat, always cooking stators, three to be honest. and good luck trying to garage diagnose that after a 6 pack of 'I can figure this out's'... i absolutely love turbo sleds, but the power ration increase over 5psi i feel not worth all the motor/cluth/heat issues due...

really all it did was tail stand for the first 100ft going up and pegged out at 115km/hr track speed! it was lack luster.... then i bore scoped the pistons next week and seen crators like the face of the moon :nono:

Cat 4 here as well..... note the sad clapped out turbo Xm with 11thouKms hiding behind the freeride with a total kms of up my ramp and down my ramp...

i was told same thing, just ensure they are proper torque to 24ftlbs and should be good.

Question: Why do you say that they are garbage? Any experience to share? I am curious as I was happy to see a 165" with decent shocks rather than me buying another set.

Has anyone seen the TPS Turbo Performance systems or the BoonDocker kits (high and/or low boost) kits on the 850's yet? Curious if everyone building turbo kits has switched over to external waste gates and billet wheels on the turbos?

Thanks for the replies... Also, has anyone ever switched the S/E Module out for a freeride version? I got a rumor that they are stronger than a stock XM module... any truth to this if anyone knows for sure???

sounds like the etec rabbit hole... I have went through 2 stators, a capacitor, fuel pump, regulator and one coil pack on my 2013 and i have 8700kms. it could be multiple things, when was the last time you cleaned the primary? belt worn out? change the plugs? rave valves cleaned and positioned...
