All the guys I ride with switched over to the '17 850 165's last year, some had belt issues and some we fine...
funniest response I've ever heard was from a friend who rides over 40 days a year say while blowing a belts every 250km +/-, "it may cost be almost a Dollar a km in belts, but still...
anytime mine had a issues was heat, always cooking stators, three to be honest. and good luck trying to garage diagnose that after a 6 pack of 'I can figure this out's'...
i absolutely love turbo sleds, but the power ration increase over 5psi i feel not worth all the motor/cluth/heat issues due...
really all it did was tail stand for the first 100ft going up and pegged out at 115km/hr track speed! it was lack luster.... then i bore scoped the pistons next week and seen crators like the face of the moon :nono:
I have had multiple friends as well myself with the TSS kits so I will weigh in. I have a high boost intercooled side mount running 10psi on avgas for over 11,000kms on my 163 13 xm, i took two top ends out with bad fuel once and bad fuel pump another time. as well cranked it up to 16psi for...
Question:
Why do you say that they are garbage? Any experience to share?
I am curious as I was happy to see a 165" with decent shocks rather than me buying another set.
Has anyone seen the TPS Turbo Performance systems or the BoonDocker kits (high and/or low boost) kits on the 850's yet?
Curious if everyone building turbo kits has switched over to external waste gates and billet wheels on the turbos?
Thanks for the replies...
Also, has anyone ever switched the S/E Module out for a freeride version? I got a rumor that they are stronger than a stock XM module... any truth to this if anyone knows for sure???
Anyone have or had a good brace kit for the S-Module? I put a RaceWerx bumper on hoping it would help, but spring time sessions have claimed ANOTHER front end. Anyone use the Grip/Rip Kits or the Zbros Braces? thoughts?
I have had that damn code on THREE SEPARATE TIMES!!! And every time I see it later something goes wrong with the machine, each time it happens its a deep day though. And then find that the stator over heats too, intermittently sends signal to the pump then loose fuel pressure, then because I'm...
I have one on my 2013 XM 163, TSS Side Mount. TSS Brandon installed the redline controller on Nov 28th for me, he loaded a premapped tune and then we went into eagles to test. The thing ran wicked right off that first base map tune he already had set up for the 10psi intercooled kit. Sled has...
sounds like the etec rabbit hole... I have went through 2 stators, a capacitor, fuel pump, regulator and one coil pack on my 2013 and i have 8700kms. it could be multiple things, when was the last time you cleaned the primary? belt worn out? change the plugs? rave valves cleaned and positioned...
Good pal of mine has a Boondocker Pro, he bought it used and the tune was way out to lunch. We got in touch with the Backus Racing guys in Mara BC and they gave us the tune to fix it.
I would say try talking with them as they are a dealer and super helpful.
Didn't mean to spread dirty laundry, I am simply telling what my experience was and how I had to fix it and what my issues were. It very well could have been a lack of tuning within the controller and them not running the same features within the tuner controller. Also I appreciate the info on...
I'm going to comment on both the box and support...
I just pulled my boost it box off because the boost it technology fuels on an RPM curve, thus if the controller looses RPM signal, no fuel. Also the boostit box is not sealed at all, with the redline box the entire internals are totoally water...
