  • Well I just took my 2008 Summit Rev R to the SkiDoo Dealer in St. Albert, Alberta. Coming back from Clemina Creek trail near Valemount yesterday... on KM 20 of the 26 KM trail, engine seized. Son towed me rest of way with our 2001 Polaris RMK 800. When I unloaded it in the Dealers yard, it started up again but ran rough, he figured 1 piston was not working. Started talking about this and that probably wrong, crank, needing a bottom end too if I replace the top end, etc.. saying a short block with 1 year warranty is the way to go. Sled only has about 1500 KM on it !!! But I have been reading ALOT on the web about the SkiDoo 600 - 800 series Rev Motors seizing up and lucky to get 2500 KM out of them. Guy at dealership said the same thing... 2 - 3,000 KM and that is it. Seems like NOT ENOUGH for a sled I paid $8500 for with 550 miles on it ! Not happy with Ski Doo and BRP. Think I will stick with Polaris, and older models at that !
