Empathize with the OP. Bought a 900 Polaris with out doing my homework and found out all about issues. Sled was stolen though so replaced it with a 07 Summit last year. Third ride this year and I am down for the year as the motor let go after 900 kms on a newly professionally rebuilt engine...

Good reminder. I checked online on the BCA site before purchasing and the bag I purchased did not require the trigger change.

Never venture into the mountains without my beacon, probe and shovel. Always check beacon function before heading up as well. Also carry a first aid kit, small saw, fire starter etc Hopefully may never need any of it, but if I do, it is there.

Just picked up a used BCA Float 30. Got the canister recharged at North West Scuba in Edmonton for $10. Next investment will be an AST 1 course. Hoping to get in on one in the New Year. Nephew has a Highmark Pro.

Re: A message to all Snow & Mudders. Be safe out there. my season was just cut short. Glad to hear you are going to be okay. Thank you for sharing your story as it is a good wake up call for all of us to be more aware when riding. A Tek Vest is on my must buy list for my first ride this year.
