Sick of skidoo junk good lord

Empathize with the OP. Bought a 900 Polaris with out doing my homework and found out all about issues. Sled was stolen though so replaced it with a 07 Summit last year. Third ride this year and I am down for the year as the motor let go after 900 kms on a newly professionally rebuilt engine...

Do you wear an Avalanche Air Bag in the Mountains

Good reminder. I checked online on the BCA site before purchasing and the bag I purchased did not require the trigger change.

Do you ride with a beacon, shovel and a probe.

Never venture into the mountains without my beacon, probe and shovel. Always check beacon function before heading up as well. Also carry a first aid kit, small saw, fire starter etc Hopefully may never need any of it, but if I do, it is there.

Do you wear an Avalanche Air Bag in the Mountains

Just picked up a used BCA Float 30. Got the canister recharged at North West Scuba in Edmonton for $10. Next investment will be an AST 1 course. Hoping to get in on one in the New Year. Nephew has a Highmark Pro.

    Moto Fist Stompers?????

Picked up a pair of Stomper 2's at Cycle Works for 35% off ($185 all in with tax). Bought a half size bigger than my shoes (11.5 vs 12). I have a flat foot so need a wide boot. These fit me fine. Wore them last weekend sledding. First hour my toes were a bit cold, not uncomfortable, but felt...

another reason to wear a tether

I have been kind of negligent in wearing my tether but after watching a few of these type videos, I can guarantee it will be used 100% of the time from this day forward.

So terrible to keep hearing of this happening. Hope they find your stuff. Think half of us work so the other half can steal.

    Boots

Used my Stomper 2's for the first time yesterday. First ever pair of true snowmobile boots I have owned. Very impressed with them. Due to some surgery and meds, I tend to feel the cold a bit more now but my feet were warm and more importantly, dry all day. I have a wide, flat foot and they...

A message to all Snow & Mudders. Be safe out there. my season was just cut short.

Re: A message to all Snow & Mudders. Be safe out there. my season was just cut short. Glad to hear you are going to be okay. Thank you for sharing your story as it is a good wake up call for all of us to be more aware when riding. A Tek Vest is on my must buy list for my first ride this year.

Is this the going rate now?

The labor charge to install the sliders was $218, parts were extra. Plus add in an additional $21.80 for shop supplies on the slider install as shop supplies are an automatic 10% of the labor charge.

Is this the going rate now?

I took my sled in to a local shop for some work. They put a new nun in, new sliders and some steering parts all of which I would have normally done myself but due to a quadruple bypass the end of June, I did not feel like tackling it this year. My question is, does $218 in labour to put the...

    anybody ever experience this

I got back into snowmobiling Jan 2012. Noticed as soon as I went maybe a km, I would get the headaches and almost a nauseous feeling. Tried Ibuprofen, which if it is motion sickness causing the headaches, it makes it worse so switched to the non-drowsy Gravol (green package). Take one, 1/2 hour...

    Newbie

Good day all, joined a month or so ago and finally decided I should introduce myself. I live and work in west central Alberta and enjoy hunting, fishing, golfing and of course snowmobiling. As my name implies, I ride a Summit 800, 2007 vintage with some performance upgrades. Mainly ride...
