i was being a little sarcastic if i had that kind of money i wouldn't be buying it i would be looking at a new super duty would be nice to try one for 6 months though

My head is starting to explode.
I dont know if its just me, but I am really getting skeptical when reading all these different reports. It all stats, and as we know stats are for losers. Simple fact is you can twist numbers to prove anything you want, depending on how you want to twist them.
The one thing I take from the above report is they base the amount of use on the electric vehicle at 15000 km per year. When you prorate the numbers, if you use the electric vehicle 30000 km a year, the emissions are cut in half. 15000 just seems low to me, I suggest its the red herring number the researcher used to "prove" diesel was more efficient.
Here is how I see it, get rid of all the subsidies, let the electric guys develop what whey feel is a good car, let the gas and diesel guys develop their vehicles, let the consumer decide what is best for them. But the BIG thing in my mind is getting rid of the subsidies. Why should I end up paying in one way or another for the other guys decisions?

Pull the subsidies from electric vehicles and the sales go down. Eliminate the subsidies and tax incentives for solar, wind and EV plug in stations and they will die a quick death.

You already do pay one way or another for others decisions, its called socialism.
I believe that the numbers are based on the average person living, working and playing within a 30km radius. This doesn't apply to rural canadians obviously.

That’s the biggest factor that people don’t seem to remember when quoting Canadians per capita carbon footprint, dual living in an environment that is frozen almost half the year...
another thing is Canada's population would be on the decrease if we stopped importing people from the desert.
doesn't make much sense if they really want to reduce Canada 's carbon foot print.

Not just that but look at the energy intensive industries we have that supply resources to the rest of the world. Oil, mining, Agriculture, Forestry, Pulp & Paper etc.
