Between the Feds and Provincial governments it's getting harder and harder for sure.
The older a person gets the more I am disgusted with people wanting everything for nothing without having to work for it.
Let the other group work hard to pay for the rest of the leaches.

Definition of insanity?

Doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results...

Close every 20 years they seem to make it .
I was a just a kid in the early 70's and remember my dad telling the bank to come get the house as nothing for work.

"The New Democratic Party of British Columbia (BC NDP) is a social-democratic provincial political party in British Columbia, Canada, which governed the province from 1972 to 1975, and then again from 1991 to 2001, "

I have told my adult kids if they vote NDP I will dis-own them LOL. After I explained to them some of the crap that went on the previous time we had a NDP government they are now telling their friends what could happen. Now I need to go and speak to the rest of the university students who think raising the min wage is the best thing that could happen. Every time I hear a NDP advertisement I cringe. It gets pretty bad when the Steel Workers Union pledged their support for the Libs instead of their traditional support towards the NDP. I sure hope the rest of them can see thru the NDP as well.

In them hills.
All the outdoor people had better get serious and realize how quickly CPAWS and the Y2Y movement jumped in and started to get a big chunk of their master plan into effect with the NDP in power in Alberta. If the NDP get elected in BC, it will be a real eye opener for people who recreate in the great outdoors. WildSight will spear head the formation of parks, the banning of trophy hunting, the banning of OHV's, and the creation of a park from the US border up to Kananaskis that may even go far enough west to include the Columbia River Trench.

The last time the NDP were in power in BC, a large chunk of the south eastern corner was slated for a park for another large piece of Y2Y. At that time, it was from the US border to Kananaskis and from the AB border to the height of land on the west side of the Elk River. If the Liberals had not have won the election, this corner would have been closed to motorized recreation.

BC has to vote and re-elect a majority Liberal government.
Yup, probably just turn all of BC into a national park.

I was at a snowmobile club meeting last night and was amazed at how people, so much younger than myself, tend to forget. The majority of members were dumb founded about the NDP non-motorized plans that were nearly put into effect in the early 2000's in the eastern Kootenays. They sat there in disbelief!

I will go on record saying, "that what happened in Alberta with the Castle area and motorized closures is nothing compared to what will happen in BC should the NDP get elected."

I agree with Bnorth, there will be more devastating things than motorized closures, but really, when friggin' hypocrites start saying for the good of the earth and the flora and fauna that we need to shut down people's recreational areas, it is time to start shaking one's head. I think it is going to be a sad day in western Canada when the ballots are counted.

it's not just motorized use many wild sight supporters are blocking, we are fighting battles to get friggin mountainbike trails approved!

We keep getting blocked by people who are concerned that we will disturb the wildlife.... wtf? I ride past deer, elk, moose and bears most of them don't even lift their heads.

And then they are concerned that we tear up the ground...

The latest move was to spend a ton of cash to feed the Damn wildlife this winter because it was so harsh.... meanwhile communities are culling deer.

The NDP’s Leap Manifesto — accepted by New Democrats across B.C. and Canada as a guide for our future — sets out a sweeping plan to re-engineer our economy and lives. It seeks to end the use of gasoline and all fossil fuels. It will stop construction of pipelines and new highways. The idea that government needs to control expenditure to keep taxes low will be abandoned.
The manifesto also proposes to phase out the entire resource sector while it raises taxes to support a countrywide minimum income. That means the government will pay everyone a salary for life whether they work or not.
This raises an important question. Exactly where does NDP leader John Horgan stand on the manifesto? Asked that very question nine months ago, Horgan responded:
“There are elements in the document that make sense and there are elements that make no sense for British Columbia. So, we won’t proceed under any kind of manifesto in the next 12 months under my leadership.”
As we approach the May 9 provincial election, British Columbians need a more specific answer from someone who wants to be premier. What parts of the manifesto does Horgan support?

• The end of use of gasoline and other fossil fuels?
• A ban on all pipeline construction?
• The end of our resource economy?
• Taxpayers funding a minimum salary for all, including those who don’t work?
And does Horgan agree with the manifesto’s plan to scuttle future LNG projects and phase out the mining industry, as many in the NDP demand. Does he agree with the manifesto’s scheme of hiring more civil servants to make up for the jobs lost in the resource sector?
The truth is, we simply don’t know where Horgan stands on the manifesto.
It’s a very interesting and important document. It’s endorsed by many of the most outstanding artists in the music and film industry in Canada.
Written by Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis, the manifesto is designed to shape the governing policies of future NDP governments. It has won the support of many in the NDP, as well as the aforementioned leaders in the performing arts. Today, inside the B.C. NDP, it’s actively being looked at as a guide to future policy for the province.
Before we go to the polls on May 9, it’s essential that all British Columbians fully understand the manifesto. They also deserve to know what parts of the manifesto Horgan supports or rejects.
In the weeks ahead, Concerned Citizens For B.C. () — a non-profit group representing citizens who share a deep concern for the future prosperity of B.C. — intends to hold a provincewide, public-interest conversation on the manifesto and what it means.
British Columbians, whatever party and candidate they support, deserve to know exactly where Horgan and his NDP candidates stand on the manifesto.
Jim Shepard has been the CEO and/or chair of some of B.C.’s most important companies and organizations. He’s a recipient of the Order of B.C. and was awarded a Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee medal in 2002 for business and community leadership.

Well believe it or not a budget does not balance itself, higher taxes will make it work though. So when you see the nincompoops running up debt .. it has to be paid in one way or another. It is not just free money that has just been discovered by smart voting ....millennials grab a friggen brain.

If the NDP get in it will be a lot tougher to be any more than an average guy. Plenty of opportunity with the Liberals just gotta go out and take it.
