That's how a 162" looks on a shortie STF... It's a MegaCab, but the short boxes are the same size whether its a quad cab or mega cab.

No, I don't put a flag on it, I think it sticks out just under 4', so it's legal. I like the deck, it has the retractable sides, and is easy to load and unload by myself. The only thing that i don't like is that it is a little too short. I think they make one that is a little bit longer, which would support my sled a little better.

STF Makes Extensions which you clip on behind the deck for snowmobiles. It is a little more work to load but then in the summer you can still pull a holiday trailer with quads on the deck without having to worry about hitting the trailer. But then again who likes summer anyways.... I hope we get an early winter.

I heard that the DOTs in bc are going to be asking that the length of the rig be followed by tail lights. What i mean is that the tail gate is the last thing on the truck. I only heard this so i have nothing to back it up. Sorry for the scare. I also heard that sled decks were supposed to be banned because of width but that hasn't seemed to happen yet.

The group I was riding with last year got pulled into the scales fernie..... they never measured the decks, but they did weigh them.

The 1500 chev with a deck and 1 sled was held at the scales, a 2500 ford with a marathon deck and 2 doos had to pull everything out of the box to drop enough weight to make the GVW rating, and the 3500 ford with a deck was legal.

They also weighed my 4 place... after all the stuff from the 2500 was put in the trailer.

Yup seen many a unit parked at the Alexander Creek scales that dont pass. But the Alexander Scale parking lot is attached to the DeadMans pass trail intersect. So they just unload and ride. Most Alta plates just get warning and a few get tickets for loads.
