heres something to pick your brains....bent my rails today

talked with jake today. as soon as he seen my rails were powdercoated he said exactly the same things you guys said about the heat.

and this is interesting..

the ONLY rails they have ever had come back bent were powdercoated.


that being said they do offer powdercoating but prefer anodizing as they feel its the lesser of 2 evils as far as possible strengh damage.

i wish i had buckets of cash i would like to have an independant testing company break a few sets of rails for me. i would be very curious as to the results

Does this mean your warranty is SOL?
I would be super impresssed if they did warranty them powder coat or not!

Thanks its hard to keep up with all the Joey posts lately. I searched HB and found this so it makes sense now.

I wouldn't have thought the powdercoating would have done anything until the guy posted about his machine parts not fitting after coating, and that was on billet....and then reading about as little as 275 degrees and it's effect on ductile aluminum. I know i have seen many sleds with coated rails, why hasn't a person heard of it before?
