It took the third season for Skidoo to get their turbo to perform. Polaris has only had 1 season on the snow so far so given equal time I think you will be surprized. It won't look like the original Boost by then but the 21 turbo Doo is not the same as the 23's either.


I did not want to wait for Polaris to improve so I just had Altitude Power Sports give my 22 Boost the required upgrades to surpass or at least perform on par with a G5. It is however a known fact that I can only use about 47.5% of the Boosts new potential..........on a good day.

3 seasons? You must have been running the POO in the garage too long with the door closed. POO might as well be a basket ball team for the amount they have dropped the ball over the last 3 years trying to keep up with Skidoo. POO has nothing to answer the G5, same as they had nothing to answer the 2020.5 turbo......

Market numbers likely prove your right! But I’m old and I don’t like change Damit!
But we are changing, weaker every year, like it or not. We need to keep an edge over the young guys. Light is right. Ski-doo is going that way, finally, thankfully.

You have got to be kidding? The writting is on the wall. First year of the Boost and it had more power and had that power at sea level. Now the 9R. Next you know they will marry those 2 sleds together. They have been working on this for 4 years already. Other thing you are missing is Doo will be releasing a 925 to try and compete with the 9R, and when they turbo that, none of us will be able to hang on. Each is progressing to a point where these sleds will be too much, or cost way too much.

Next thing you know Doo will ditch the torsion springs and throw a belt drive on it....... engineering marvel by BRP.....lol. Then the transformation to SKI-POO will be complete.

Yup short tunnel 175 is the only way to go. 154 are so slow, no flotation just sit there and spin and wheelie….. want to go fast you need a sled with some track…

Even collecting air miles the 175 is better. You can get the ground spend just to send it… uphill or down hill.

Or we will get back to 0 reliability and that was no fun either, theres a reason the 900,1000cc sleds dissapeared once allready

A little ski lift is kinda sporty and cool. But I have had to rescue my 22 year old son from under his '20 Expert after it came over backwards and pinned him underneath it in it's trench; and all he could do was talk to me on his radio because his leg was pinned, and there was nothing he could do to free himself. Not a good feeling to have as a dad. There is a huge risk factor involved in all these guys wanting to have 500lbs of snowmobile overtop of them all the time. I don't see the number of riders being hurt or worse going down when everyone wants to head out to do cool Instagram chit now instead of just go riding.

I think another atribute of getting old is to be stuborn.
I don’t look at it as being stubborn. We are "set in our ways for a reason” and that was usually determined by a learning curve that we made it through in days past. If we could, we would probably do it all over again with a little tweak here and there to change the end result but our old ravaged bodies just don’t have that level of commitment any more.
