already did, as far as i'm, concerned the honda and yamaha are the quietest, running on eco mode, you need to tell me how they are finding
db rating? we had a campout, one guy was looking for a new genny, wanted the quietest, any idea what he picked? he had 8-10 to pick from?
if i was buying a cheap genny i would go down to princess auto buy the cheapest they had , tape the sales receipt inside the lid and use the lifetime full replacement/ cash back warranty! depends what you want.

i thought so?
i'm not buying anything! already have generator! ha. seems like you are upset, no idea why?

Nope, just done talking with you about it. There is literally 50 differnt videos on the subject. Generac and Briggs and straton are the quitest from the evidence Ive seen. But your anecdotal evidence is noted and I have a feeling youre not changing your mind no matter what though and I don't really care. You win. Honda is the best.

Not mad at ya at all bud. Have a good evening.

Honda or Yamaha are the best as stated multiple times. I did like Honda machines but like their gens. But that being said we have one right now at work we are using for power on board at truck and it will not stay running for more than 2hours? It’s the 2200I model runs awesome they will go out later and isn’t running. Takes forever to start then runs rough for a bit then is normal. Come out later and is dead again. It’s only running a battery charger.
That sounds similar to my issue Neil that's how mine started. Now it just runs like crap and only if it's not in eco mode. Bringing it into the garage after I read the boy his books and cleaning the air inlet jet on top of the carb. Apparently a super common problem

Unfortunately there is lots of things to look at when comparing DB levels. The wattages have to be the same, along with the loads. Now my 3200 honda suitcase is noticeably louder than my 3000. Three reasons for that, Insulation package and continuous wattage rating, and engine size. Same engine load my 3200 is running harder than my 3000.
Now if I was to compare my 3000 honda to a honda 7000. The 7000 is much quieter than a 3000 running the same load.
My 3000 electric start model is a way better unit than my 3200, It has more power and its way quieter.

Has anybody tried on of those soft start kits for RV A/C? I have read that you can actually run the A/C off a 2000watt gen. It could be an option to dropping 3g on a larger gen.

I've heard of it being done with the yammie 2400 watt generators, never a 2000 though.

Turning the fridge on gas, and the converter off makes a big difference though.

RV fridges work better on gas than electricity, just what I've been told by rv and fridge techs

I know my honda 2000i will not run my circular saw properly, i would rate it at a 1600 to 1650. But it is quiet at idle, not so much under load. My older Coleman 1850 would run the same circular saw easily. But it does start and run nice...especially with aspen fuel in it.

I have found for big initial load you will have to turn off eco idle. Then you can hit it. I have run a AC on a 24' trailer years ago with my Honda 2000 as well. It didnt like it and was balls out but it did it..

So the honda is the quiet compared to the others, and put out more actual watts.

from my experience, the Honda and yamaha are so close, but the sound meter, with identical tests is the way to go. we have had generators in our group running and there is a difference. honda and yamaha may have a different sound tone? don't know. i have the honda 3000(49-50 db) and a champion 2000(53-54db){advertised db} the champion is louder. might be best to get a decibel app on phone and go around and check a few at store or campsites. only way to know for sure is a side by side comparison.
