Before we left I noticed the coolant was a bit low in the jug so I did maybe overfill it a bit 7 other sleds I road with had no temp issues there was ample snow on the trail for cooling but everyone said it looked like the shorter snow flap caused all the snow to shoot straight out behind the sled.... even drug my feet trying to direct extra snow into to skid..... I had some choice words for the alpha.... will over filling the jug effect cooling?.... prob impeller slipping or stuck thermostat but how would a guy prove either? Is thermostat easily accessed? Guess I better find owners/service manual as I didn’t get one with the new purchase

Yank the thermostat and put a plug in, rule out the t-stat.

I highly doubt it's the t-stat but that's easy enough to change and or troubleshoot.

My money is that they put in another ****ty impeller or they didn't actually change the impeller and just took the 4.7hrs of labour $$$ from the update job.

There is free digital service manuals on the country cat website.

What you describe is exactly what I went through with my impeller.

I have always ran no snowflap.

Your on the right track with the coolent jug temp.

Let the sled get right hot and then feel the heat exchanger, it should be smoking hot if the impeller doing its job.

If the exchanger is just semi warm that means your t stat is open but you basically have convection flow happening.

If your exchanger is cold/cold then t-stat is fubar.

IMO

A guy could also pinch the discharge coolent hose with your fingers to see if you can feel flow.

Ya good point it ran great the first day but flashed hot about5 Kms coming down from Chappel creek day two it ran hot all the way up allen creek flashing and solid lit most of the way up and cooled when I hit the deep white but day three it ran hot hot all the way from 3 km at allen creek to Caribou bowl they I parked on a steep 45 degree and opened rad cap and ran for 2 mins to see if I could see water returning in jug with lid off and I could see an 1/8 spray returning The sled got up to 190 degrees when running properly I seen 124 degrees F at the time it seemed like a thermostat sticking to me.... block also felt hot but coolant jug just felt warm... this sled had the water pump update done already
You have a mechanical issue T- stat or water pump that sled should never heat in the conditions we have on the trail down with scratcher's being used. Does it have warranty if so let AC deal with it easy fix?

Fuel tank rubbing on steering post crossbar. Almost a hole right into. Anyone else having this issue ? (2019 with 1800km)

Further inspection, welds on the ignition coil brackets also cracking on this Arctic Crack

I’m am 2 hrs away from any arctic cat dealer and still no closer in trouble shooting this high temp issue ran with cap off with rear 4 ft in the air til high temp alarm and ran with front 4 ft in air til high temp same..... heat gunned temps antifreeze jug 148 f block 154 f front cooler 90 f rear cooler 45f.....wtf is going on? Is rear cooler plugged? Where is thermostat? Remove engine to remove thermostat? Is there anyone that can heat gun their alpha and verify these temps... I would think when thermostat opens coolant temps on one side of cooler should be close in temp with the return side cooler... seems it’s not circulating.... appreciate any feedback... before it goes to town to the dealer

Yes they took the cash and did not do the ecm update warranty says it was done but still idles up at 2600 rpm... prob did the same with water pump..... guess all the suitcase exhaust and y pipe goes back on and returns for warranty updates

I go to dons speed parts, have for the last 10 years, CC cycle in barrhead is also highly recommended by a buddy of mine who is an ex cat master mechanic. Echo was good but they are not in business anymore. Argyll and Alberta Cylce arent my cup of tea and thats all I will say about them lol....... have a couple friends who have purchased from them and were not happy with treatment after money changed hands for the sled

Central sled and cycle in Wetaskiwin will treat you fair also. I have never had a issue with bringing my sled in and it’s far from stock. I wouldn’t do the ECM reflash. I still haven’t done mine and it rips.

I wish I would not of got the reflash done, ever since I did it it seems to take a bit for the idle to come down , wants to sit around 2400rpm for like 30 seconds or more before it drops down to 1600-1700

You are done with the trouble shooting and your right no circulation in the cooling system. Either a T-Stat or WP, still sucks but it needs fixing. I deal with Central sled in Wetaskawin and recommend them to everyone I know.

What’s opening temp for the thermostats?

If they’re opening I’m gonna say you have a circulation issue.

Think I may have figures this arctic crap out..... raised rear of sled for a good 5 mins 4 ft in air running with rad cap off and a bunch of foam/ air bubbles came out then I went for a 20 min rip in the field 130f then out of nowhere high temp lite starts flashing flipped sled on its side to heat gun cooler temps and the cooler is iced right over with a pad of ice covering the cooler.... cleaned ice off cooler came back down to 140f in no time.... the fins on the cooler are cupped upwards to hold snow I’m assuming and freezing a slab of ice over cooler not allowing proper cooling....wtf ? But this does not explain why temp on dash matches cylinder and jug temps but front cooler is 25c when every where else is 65c.... changed dash to degrees C
