Just wanted to throw out a thanks to Unc Gord and the group of guys that went up Queest last night to rescue our buddies who got a little turned around without us guides along! Looks like someone's buying steak dinner with all the fixings!
Did I mention we've had 5" of snow in the past 4 hours! The Club should put out a warning to tell everyone to stay away due to deep snow!!!
I would have went up last night, but was dealing with well pump that quit working, stupid pressure switch

Always easy to get turned around in a newish area Sherm. Sometimes even in an area a guy has been to a time or two. The big community of snowmobilers is such a close knit group and there are always guys that are willing to help a guy out. Being able to communicate is a big thing and not enough people take it serious enough. Glad you buddies got out alright!!

If I knew that area better I'd have gone up but getting turned around during daylight is one thing, but night is a whole new ball game! Lesson learned by everyone, at least get back to the trail by dark, kinda my rule anyways..

Few years ago , ok maybe more than few years ago , like 15 , had ridden sicamous area for few years, was familiar with area , but a day that was blowing/ snowing and I wasnt paying attention to where I was going and usually I lead but this day was following, boy did my orientation get screwed up , I lost total direction and was totally dependent on other sledders to my where abouts , every since then I have couple GPS's on board and now that been in the area for more than a few years have an internal GPS, lol , but new areas always have me on alert !

So that was the 3rd time I've shoveled/snowblowed/bladed today. To much snow, picked a bad year to get back into sledding, and get a 175" to boot! Should have listened to the wife!!

Eagles was stinking deep today. Much untouched to play in. And it’s snowing like crazy in town. Tomorrow is going to be a dandy.

We went up owls yesterday for a top notch day. Over the hood all day and never crossed another set of tracks other then the trail. Just when you think you've had one of the best days the weekend before it just keeps getting better. Some spots had upwards of 4' of nice dry fresh. Should be good for a while tell this cold crap screws off. Can't see there being much traffic the next couple days, -31 at the cabin will take pretty much all the fun out of it.

Kinda wish I had gone out yesterday too but Saturday was a good day at Queest. Saw one group all day and then hit the cabin to grab gas and there must have been 30 sleds there.

Yesterday was the first day in my many years of sledding that I experienced the need for a snorkel!! It was that deep and fluffy on the flat meadows! Visability was a little poor at times but the snow was soft enough that it didn't cause a problem and the old tracks were still soft. Son #2 was using his mother's sled and found a few holes. The screen shot from the Owl's Head cabin this morning emphasizes the fact that yesterday was a good day to go. Crossed off a "bucket list" thingy in the parking lot when bobsledder and his wife stopped by the truck and introduced themselves. It was a chilly ride down and by the time we got back to Salmon Arm, there was a -9 degree temp change from the morning departure. Lots of trees down and tree parts on the highway from the strong winds. I will hibernate for a day or two and try to put together some video footage.

All these years I wanted to get down to my old home country and ride with you and it never worked out. Once I heal up we will have to tour this area together.
