Me and a few other locals here in Nordegg have formed the Nordegg OHV society to preserve our rights to camp and ride in the west country. We will be working to maintain our trails and get new trails approved. It is a non profit society and we are looking for members. We have membership forms available and its $10 per person or $30 for family membership. If you would like to join please message me.We must be active to preserve this recreation area for all Albertans.

the imdoo'n quick read version!!!!!

Finally, we will review the policy alternatives for managing large carnivores such as grizzly bears in and around Canada’s Rocky Mountain national parks. Many environmental groups, conservation biologists, and park managers have begun to urge that Alberta grizzly bears can onlybe saved from predicted extinction by preserving a vast tract of unbroken territory that covers almost 1.2 million square kilometres of public and private land from Yellowstone National Park to the Yukon (Harvey 1998). While we do not dispute the common-sensical observation that bears need adequate habitat, our findings suggest that increasingly extensive closures and restrictions are neither necessary nor wise

I signed up with Norg.

I wish he would of taken me fishing to. Ha

Glad to have folks in the area that know the area the best.

The GOA folks are just a bunch of city folks that barely know what a tree is.

Of course this was 17th hand me down information

Jason Nixon on with Danielle Smith tomorrow at 10:00 am regarding Bighorn land use issues. I think it’s AM770 in Calgary and AM660 in Edmonton. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Do you not remember her last lie last fall that she met with the mayor of rocky to discuss the bighorn wildland proposal. That didn’t happen either, this is all gaining momentum
She’s got to go.

Here is a collection of several sources of reporting on this event.

I have printed the 44 page summary of the Bighorn proposal and it does include, for each area, what is currently allowed and what the proposed changes are. My biggest problem is that I have not been in the area so lack perspective on what these changes might be or how they might impact the end result. It would be fantastic if someone familiar with the area would point out where the problems are.

The proposal is available at
