Ya, that was stacey's sled the other weekend. Clipped a rock just right and he had to limp the sled bad to the trailer. We are all going tomorrow. Your welcome to join Xmrider! I guess you can come to Lund.. Don't want to make you feel left out.. LOL

Yep I got the phone call the next day and gave him the parts list I replaced. His was cheaper because he didn’t chew it all apart like I did.

I head back to work tomorrow morning :( or I would sleds still on the truck. I’m home Feb 3 - Feb -13 and will be doing a trip sometime in that time frame if we can make something work.

Just wondering why anyone would want to compare a done up to the nuts 2 stroke to a stock factory 4 stroke. Yes your right it take's a well done up 2 stroke to run with a stock factory 4 stroke. I agree.

Is your build stock Lund??? Is Pauls 174 stock? No, there not. And the Axys has the stock skid and suspension. Just a turbo and clutching. Get your facts figured out.

I’m hoping to get a ride in with some Turbo 2 strokes to do a comparison and just try a new setup. I believe we have a mutual friend Stacey. His and my chain cases were cracked and we both didn’t have a skid plate installed.

Hopefully get a ride in with You/Niner/Catman10/Kibbels then?
What are you guys using for skid plates to protect the chain case ?

I have the full skid plate from Yamaha now installed over top the factory plastic ones. Covers entire front end both sides. I also have a Pickle Protector in the works waiting for a phone call from the manufacturer of them he said it will be 2 weeks. So next week early it should be ready.

Clearly you guys have not tried a strong 2 stroke. 10psi on a properly clutched Axys pulls just as hard and will climb better then the sidewinder. and isn't so heavy.

Clearly you've never owned either... so a stock Sidewinder runs with 10lbs MTNTK .. truth! There is very few that run 10lbs on and 2 stroke turbo... the MTNTK takes 10lbs as I don’t believe it makes the Power others do at 7lbs. Anyways not sure what you’re getting at but a Stage 4 will wipe the azz of a 10lbs axy.. no slight against MTNTK! I had one they are ok but not exciting for me. Anyways great feed back Xmrider163.... so clearly your in the wrong sectiondragon weld28

Cheers!!

Torque > horsepower in the mtns. Any person with any common sense knows this. And four stokes have far more torque, hence why they overcome the weight factor.

Truth ... but you can’t tell a young buck that!!! Whom has never owned either!!! But knows everything... geesh!!

Niner has a turbo pro not an axys and I ride with them all the time. How does 200hp on a heavy 4 stroke beat 200hp on a 2 stroke. I have ridden both lots... and a stock sidewinder is horrible, lots of fun, but can't climb very well as it just flips over. Had to be stretched to a 174, then needed a skid and shocks to make it handle ok. The if you bump a rock your chain case it toast. $2500 bill to my other buddy that just bought one.

Really... I climbed everything everyone did. Nope I didn’t flip over. How I know this I was riding the SW that I own lol. I nailed a rock it it hard ... how I know I was riding my SW!!! Lol. The bill isn’t $2500 .. how I know I’m the one that paid for the parts... lol !!! Might want to get your facts straight.. before you spew!!

Does it need a shock... yup it does for my riding.

Im Glad you commented Stacey. I don't own either.. so I'm not biased. I have stated the facts as i have seen them all last year and this year so far. Why did paul go 174?? cause the axys was way faster.. lol. He will even admit that. Chappel barely had 18" of fresh snow on set up snow, nothing to really brag about climbing to be honest. When we rode last year in DEEP snow, 3 feet plus, it was very evident that Pauls sidewinder was not climbing close to the turbo pro or turbo axys. And if i recall, you had a 2013 pro turbo with a stock track not a 174 axys so you have no idea what your talking about. I have redden both... you haven't. I have witnessed both... you haven't.
The reason I commented is that everyone is saying that the sidewinders are so the best sleds out there. And to be honest i really like riding them. There a lot of fun. But until you but a skid or stretch them to a 174 the won't compete.

Maybe I'm not the one on the high horse... I drive a N/A Axys and have to giver to keep up with all the turbos all day.

Anyways, I'm glad i pushed that sensitive yamaha button.. lol

Oh Benny you were drinking the Poo juice pretty hard this morning. Last year Paul’s sidewinder as a 174 was faster than my pro. Mine climbed better than his as a 162 but once he was 174 his climbed better. Chrisco 174 Axys at 12 lbs was faster than the sidewinder by a small bit. Paul’s sidewinder was down 4-500 rpm last year because of crappy rollers. His sidewinder is faster this year. Your sled Benny is as far from stock as Paul’s is. Paul and I have been riding 174 tracks for the last 12 years that’s why he built one for his. Getting way off topic here, love your thread Xmrider but should keep the bashing to the fat chick thread.

For Crying out loud. IM not on the Poo juice. A turbo doo 175 or a turbo Cat 174 would end in the same results. I'm not bashing... Lund was saying how no 2 stroke will ever compare. So, i made a comment. As stated previously, a STOCK sidewinder is not as fast as a turbo pro or axys 174......

They have to be either stretched to a 174 of need a skid..

Haha I like the passion everyone seems to have. I was just posting about the Sidewinder nothing mentioned greatest sled ever. It’s the most fun “ I personally” have had on a sled. And going from a stock 14 XM to this Stage 4 setup is quite the feeling for me. This Blog/Forum posting is just for my experiences and sledding progress throughout the year.

I’ll now 100% have to come ride with Niner/Stacey/and this Poolaid Super star Benny lol. Get some videos and some more comical posts going!!
