my truck is still under warranty so wondering if any of you are running a performance tuner and if so what brand.
Tks

Install a tuner and it will kill your warranty. I have the same truck. Bought extended warranty. I won't touch anything until the warranty is over. At that point it will get traded in if I have any issues. I know there have been guys on the duramax forum that had warranty rejected from a tuner that didn't add any power.
thats what I feared. Have a friend that insisted that would not be the case so thanks for clearing that up. Awesome truck just not a fan how the transmission shifts compared to my F350 with a tuner.
Really? What is it doing? Mine has been good so far. Only 50,000km on it though.
Just spray some nitrous at it Dennis I can't see that voiding warranty LOL
I’d Spend the money on nicktane adapter and better fuel filter for longevity and drive it. Donaldson makes a fuel/water filter 3 micron # P553203 $20 - Napa. Stock is 6 micron and $45-50 ( rockauto for ac delco. Or first filter carries a replacement as well )
I bought from jandy diesel on eBay. Got the bleeder screw and shim kit all as one
I did a tune from coopers custom tuning only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner did it at (20,000) k way better fuel economy way better performance the motor isn’t choking itself. As for warranty you still have it just if they can prove the tuner caused it they will void that warranty claim. I also only ran a stock hp tune so I would not be pushing the limits of the stock components.

They don't have to prove anything unless you take them to court and even then it is a fight. Lots of guys have already been through it. Most of the time Dealers are required to send in a snap shot now that will show if it has ever been tuned. Even if the truck is in for something unrelated. The only way you might get around it is to have the dealer install the tuner and then only take the truck back to them for repairs.I did a tune from coopers custom tuning only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner did it at (20,000) k way better fuel economy way better performance the motor isn’t choking itself. My 16 gets pretty good mileage for stock. Only sucks when it regens, which isn't very often.
For the first time ever I will leave this truck stock till it's off warranty or the emissions gives me grief three times.
To the OP, without building the trans or tuning you will never find your truck will shift like a Ford. The Allison has a lot heavier parts in it with a lot of protection in the tuning to help keep it from piling up.
