To the OP we are having a hard time sellin good used 1-2 year old units at very fair prices so i Duno? Seems to me if they are spending 10-12 they are going to go new.

With any toys I think you should have to have at least 50% down if your financing .
If you can't afford that you shouldn't be purchasing .IMO
All through my life I have never financed at toy?
Missed out a lot but sure didn't hurt me. Lol
If I wanted the said toy i just saved and worked harder .

I agree for the most part. Financing a toy for 5 years with zero down is just dumb.
When I bought my xm I paid $4000 down and financed for 3 years, per year I'm only spending slightly more than an old sled that I am constantly fixing and I can trade in 3 years and always have a modern sled

Used sleds / quads are a tough sell, period. Doesn't matter if they're bone stock or modded. Between easy financing on new toys and manufacturers building more then they can sell (holdover / carry over / new non current units) - it''s pretty hard to justify paying for a used unit that may have been poorly maintained or abused. Personally, I've never had a problem selling my used equipment, but they are always priced right, and the condition of them is always good to excellent. Recreational toys depreciate faster then anything on the planet... unless you find "the" buyer.

The used market appears to be tough for the sellers. I noticed that some people are thinking it's more viable to part out good running sleds opposed to selling complete. Makes sense, people are always looking for parts.

As mentioned price point is key.... My opinion is price it low with little room for bargaining. This put you automatically under all the guys with a high price and big room of bargaining. As a "new" generation as some of you are stating here, I accept the price is the price. Negotiating on a price is a dieing thing as time goes on. But everyone has there own opinion and tactics for selling. I image the even younger generation just wants it dirt cheap, just look at the pricing of everything these days. I mean really, do you blame them for this mentality.

I sat on my 2010 M8 for about 6 weeks this spring and a the first and only guy to come look at it took it home... For a lot less than I originally asked. Saturated market+older chassis not too many guys want=tough sell.

I really think with how fast the market has changed over the past 10 years, the used market has taken a beating. The machines that the manufacturers are building are full on mod machines from 5-7 years ago that now come with warranty.

Right now its still early.....wait for Oct/Nov. Lots out in the fields farming too..sleds are one of the last things going through their heads.

I agree that's it may be a little early too. Once the snow flies I think you'll see people a little more desperate to buy and willing to spend.

That said I bought new because I would rather have a machine with no possible hidden issues from a previous owner for the extra 1000$ I cost

i 100% agree. however alot of guys like myself have a new sled waiting to be picked up and really cant afford to have 30,000$ in machines tied up. again totally self inflicted issue LOLOL
