thought it might be interesting to see how many m1100t's that were snowchecked at alberta dealers are delivered and how many of us are waiting. Would give us a good indication as to where things are at. My dealer tells me they have hardly delivered any snowchecks so i am patiently waiting for my 153 standard. Whats sayin a dealer isnt sellin a snowcheck arrival as floor stock, they stand to make a swack more cash.

The sleds are registered to you in the Cat system when they are built. A dealership would lose the franchise in about 2 seconds if they tried to pull that off.

Thats good information. Makes me feel more confident that my snowcheck isnt something that can be given out to a dealers local buddy who decided he needed a sled at the last minute. Looks like Im close to arrival at last. Been a gong show as every call to dealer pushed delivery back two weeks. Scared to call anymore. Had a chance to buy a floor model as well and this is what got me to thinkin. Quite a bit more cash and given the lack of snow, will painfully wait.

Lack of snow maybe there . SURE NOT here. We have crazy amounts of snow over here in the mtn's.

Got mine in the garage now. Took it for a spin in the cul-de-sac...Wow! Lots of instant power. And it rides really smooth and tight! Can't wait to hit the mountains in Reve!

y a sometimes there s no rhime or reason. the sled is designated to a snowcheck customer as soon as it has a vin.. before the build and after its built its put in line for loading and delivery. unfortunately some sleds are temporarily misplaced or set aside and miss loads. we had 4 of them that were loaded on the 9th of november and typically a 4-5 day delivery... they arrived on the week of the 22 of november... so who knows... as a dealer trust me its frustrating as hell.... we had customers step up and place the order and there were so many hurtles that cat had to deal with this yr... not making excuses...but if you ve every had one of those days or weeks that every thing keeps screwing up, while i think its safe to say thats the couple of months that cat has had... sunami... power outages, suppliers gone or backed up, twice the predicted orders and snowchecks....etc etc. ...so yes it sucks...we just have to do what we can...my 1100 t 162 is slated for a build date of dec 6.... so yes i feel your pain... and no we dont sell snowcheck..s.... hope this helps you understand what its like on the otherside of the counter...but i still am glad its my own sled and not a customers waiting for dec 6 build... \

In my head
A lot of the turbos built in November were held back to correct a couple minor issues. As opposed to shipping and having the dealers call them back in. A whole whack load have gone out on trucks and are starting to be delivered. Many hitting the snow hard and fast!

I don't mean to sound ignorant but if Cat is blaming this partly on an engine shortage how come Yamaha is not having the same problems??? I assume that Yamaha's engines are built in Japan too and are subject to the same power outages that are happening at the Suzuki factory so why are their engines arriving in time?? And I really can't see how the high number of snowchecks has anything to do with slow production. Thats a pizz poor excuse IMO, they would've been making the engines anyways regardless if they were for snowchecks or dealer's stock. Bottom line is Cat has dropped the ball......it started with not having snowchecks or dealer stock built by December and it goes right down to them not having any accessories at the dealers. And its apparent on here that some dealers have dropped the ball as well....I know mine certainly has and if there wasn't such a shortage of the sleds and dealers becoming greedy selling them for list or higher I would have gone to a different dealer.

Again I'm not trying to be ignorant.....I'm just very frustrated with Cat and my dealer. When I snowcheck two sleds and still don't have them by Dec, that is a problem for me. And it makes it even worse when the dealer doesn't even have the decency to pick up the phone and tell me what is going on. From everything I've read on here T&T is not one of the dealerships that has let down their customers so by no means am I trying to bash you. If anything I thank you for posting something to give us, the customers, somewhat of an idea what the delays are.

I know you tried to answer this question but I'll ask it again.......why do they make the mountain sleds last? I realize that any brand will sell more trail and crossover sleds than mountain sleds. But these riders wont have snow until Dec, if they're lucky Nov.......so why not make the mountain sleds for Sept as a lot of guys are riding in Oct. Do dealers bring this up to their area reps??? It just seems that each brand is backwards in their production.

You're signature says "the only bad ride is the one you missed"......I've missed two trips already this year with another one coming up soon and I've been told I'll have my sleds by Xmas...well if I don't have them by Xmas that will be 3 trips missed this year. I have come back to Cat after 4yrs away and was never more excited for winter. But with all the delays from Cat and hearing nothing from my dealer I can honestly say that its been a huge disappointment. I'm really not that excited for sledding this year. Slow production is not the dealers fault, I know this and so does everyone else, but the dealers need to keep their customers informed of what is going on.

This of course is all just my frustrated opinion but thank you for posting something.

Could be that yamaha never had anywhere near the volume.
I know they have a big market share in the east, but totally lost their momentum in the west.

poor fuggers could a run the plant off a 3500 W genny and kept up ;)

Yamaha did not have the volume to build that Cat had to build, as well as Yamaha's plant is on the otherside of japan from where the tsunami took place, so they were not affected much, unlike suzuki whos plant from my understanding was very close to the affected area. Not all of Japan was under water and affected. Am i sticking up for arctic cat, no, they could have handled things better, but here we are...hopefully it all works out for everyone one way or another. On a side-note i know we are the exception not the rule, but we have sold more Turbo Nytro's this fall than 1100 Cat Turbos. Just sayin... :)
