Summer has now come to a close and the leaves are turning color so that can only mean one thing.....Sledding season is just around the corner!
This past spring, we lost our Summit Warm-up Cabin due to a fire and we have started construction at the same site. There's a lot of work to do in order to have the Cabin ready for the upcoming season and to also allow us time to trail clean.
We need helping hands this weekend to assist with the construction of the Cabin and welcome anyone who can spare some time for the Club.
Saturday & Sunday, September 29 & 30[SUP]th [/SUP]
Meet at Summit cabin (km 10 on Groat Creek road), accessible by truck up the trail to the cabin site, at 8:30 am both days to continue the following work on the cabin:
Install tin on the roof
Install front porch and lean-to style roof
Install insulation and vapour barrier
Install 1x6 on ceiling
Install skirting under cabin
Install doors and windows
What you need to bring : Assorted hand and power tools & ladders to do the jobs above – staplers, hammers, drills, drivers bits for roofing screws, etc... Foreman Jeff will arrange the required lumber and hardware. We will also need a few generators and extension cords.
Please contact Ken or Dan (contact numbers below) and let them know what you can bring and to let us know how many are available to help out.
Thank You!

[h=2][/h]The New Summit Cabin is Under Construction!
This past spring, we lost our Summit Warm-up Cabin due to a fire and we have started construction at the same site. There’s a lot of work to do in order to have the Cabin ready for the upcoming season and to also allow us time to trail clean.
Here are some work-in-progress pictures of our dedicated volunteers in action building the replacement Summit Cabin. Great work! Looking good!
Good job guys. Sure hope you had a cold beer in it after that hard work. Will see it this winter for sure. Maybe we can have a Snow and Mud ride out there.
We're trying our hardest to get the Summit Cabin ready for the upcoming sledding season, but we really need your help! Work Crews will be out at the cabin both Saturday, Oct 13th and Sunday, Oct 14th at 9:00am. Whatever time you can spare on these days would be greatly appreciated. If you require directions on how to get to the cabin, please contact Ken or Dan at the numbers below. Thanks!
