Right in the middle of the state, Fairbanks. Live close to two rivers Chena and Tanana. South of town is a large flat (Tanana valley swamp) and the Alaska Range. North is rolling hills and Yukon River.
East and west runs the Tanana valley. River systems are highways this time of year. Lots of trail riding. How about your area?
Have not been to Summit this year. Bad snow and latest report I got is still not too good. Bright spots are behind the Tit and out Mclaren river way (After you pass Tangle lakes) and there is a trail over to the Chistochina. But there are some motor home parked on the pad already so the party will go on.
Not as late as I would like. Snow is gone by Mid April, higher up and road accessible May 10 on a good year the lastest was a cool spring years ago rode till May 25. Got snow higher still but no way to get to it as we don't have many roads in the Mountains.
While been a while since i started this thread.
I'm now retired and riding a 2011 800 e tec. Put on 2500 mile last winter, this year so far only put on 500 mile here around Fairbanks so far this winter.
Snow just getting right but the now the bottom has drop out, -30 or colder today.
Happy New year to all.
